Hi Brittany. It was nice meeting you briefly a few days ago. I meant to comment on this video a while back, but I got caught up. Anywho. Thank you for sharing this video. I’m a narrative director and screenwriter first, then photographer and within the last 2 years, I have found myself in spaces to do a lot of behind-the-scenes photography, which I never considered before I was thrown in the middle of it. Come to find out, I enjoy it quite a lot. I didn’t know before that there is different behind the scenes scenarios, as you described. Documentary style & Fast pace social media. I think I lean more on the fast pace social media style. Your questions to ask during prep was extremely informative and I will be going back to that often. I think eventually I may want to do more behind the scenes and audio on video, but I definitely feel more comfortable on photography for behind the scenes. I never considered local 600, but I am curious now. Again, thank you for sharing this.

I was legit just trying to figure out how to approach BTS for other creators but make it dope telling a story and not ONLY meaningless b roll lol (even though I still love me some crispy smooth b roll) lol this really helped me out a LOT bc I think being a PRO BTS shooter might be my niche.. fr keep dropping thiese gems! loving the content!

I definitely feel that! I feel I’m at that pro BTS stage. And I’ve been fortunate to work on some dope things. I think that will set you apart as you approach creators and showing them how you can do it cinematically and different from everyone else!

One of the major things lost with streaming videos and music is the video content included with DVDs. You could get director and actor narratives, bloopers, interviews, and the behind the scenes footage. My concern nowadays is that BTS may become too polished, and that people are still in "performance" mood instead of just being themselves.
@BrittneyJanae5 ай бұрын
So when I shot the women king they did a DVD! I think people are going to get back to it because of how watered down it is now. People want to get back to how it used to be to be and what made it so unique.

People look forward to BTS because the creation space has made a way for that! Like you said the realness and raw emotions that goes into a project is never shown but is always inquired about. Great content! The day you shooting BTS for marvel I will scream!! 😊😮But I’m rooting for you anyways!

Thanks Brittany for this knowledge ! I took a strong interest in this filming space thanks to creators like you ! Currently learning color grading , after effects and etc via Davinci for my solo running vlogs. I’m fairly new to all of this but i am a sponge! Is this BTS possible for those who film alone ?

Love this video as a bts filmmaker myself everything was correct. Another tip would be to make it as authentic as possible and to usually have a 60/40 split if behind the camera footage to front of the camera footage. People love to see what it takes to make it happen.
@BrittneyJanae5 ай бұрын
Great tip! Explain more??? It’s always nice to provide various angles so I agree. Get some shots with camera and some standalone of just talent! That’s what I usually do. I didn’t know it was called 60/40 split I want to pin!
@Official.raymundo5 ай бұрын
@@BrittneyJanae ofcourse, so this is specifically from my experience in music video BTS. Since music videos are complex and the artist is already highlighted in it, a big thing to show is the people behind the cameras how they prepare everything etc. that should be 60% of an edit the other 40% can be the artist which would be considered in front of the camera. It is a lower percentage because we already see them for the majority of the music video. So this is the part where like you said in the video, show their fun, genuine, side of the artist. Oh and also go ask questions to the people you are shooting and film the questions and answers. Like “hey what are we doing today” they respond with “hey we are hear in the shoot for my music video etc. “

whats EPK?
@BrittneyJanae5 ай бұрын
An electronic press kit, or EPK for short, is a compilation of material to promote a film or TV project, a new album by a band, or an artist's work. Another definition: An EPK is a digital package consisting of various elements that give the audience a sneak peek into your movie. From the trailer to soundbites from the cast and filmmaker, clips from the film, and B-ROLL, an EPK has it all. So basically interviews are done on set and they usually use. The BTS to add to those interviews to create promotional or marketing material for that film.
