What are you struggling with in product photography?

Getting good, vibrant colors with good contrasts is a real issue for me! I think that white background would elevate my photos a lot. Thank you!
@MichaelCGrayPhotography Жыл бұрын
@@slavbarbie Your welcome. If you are using manual settings, you should be able to get good contrast with decent color. all the white can really play tricks on a camera

Whoa! Love how easy you make your videos to follow. Usually when I hear Photoshop work is required, I instantly think “Oh gosh…gonna be some drawn out process”. But the way you showed it is fantastically simple and makes me want to actually try this. Thx!

Fabulous video, I think I can try this for my luxury candles. I am not sure what background to use as my jars are white ceramic? 🏴🏴
@MichaelCGrayPhotography3 ай бұрын
Thank you. You can do white on white, but to make your product pop a bit more try maybe off white, light grey. Or play with the background based on the smell, like ocean breeze on a light blue or shade there of. Romantic, think your reds, pinks etc. You can also base your background color on the ingredients. Sometimes a pure white background is not the best option.

I have trouble doing product photography when my item is a vitamin bottle. It's hard to get everything in focus and it's difficult to get the lighting right so portions of the bottle aren't over-exposed while other portions of the same bottle aren't under-exposed.
@MichaelCGrayPhotography2 ай бұрын
For light add a 2nd light on the darker side or use a bounce card to fill in shadows. for focus increase your depth of field or use focus stacking. Here is a video on focus stacking: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hGPbln6pfM6igaM

Hi there thank you so much for all your tips! I’m just starting so kinda clueless, do you need extra lighting or can you use natural lighting? Thank you so much!! :)
@MichaelCGrayPhotography Жыл бұрын
Your welcome. Yes you can use natural light. To get the back white i would use the natural light behind the subject and use white foam core or any white or silver surface to bounce light onto the sides and front of the subject. If the light is to harsh use a window sheer or anything to diffuse the natural light.
@buddystylediff2941 Жыл бұрын
Good day how do u shoot on white and also have some shadow on the side??
@MichaelCGrayPhotography Жыл бұрын
Move your main light to the side. adjust the main light till you get the effect you want. The product will block some of the light making a shadow, Make sure your background light is not to strong or it will blow out the table surface and burn out the shadow.
@buddystylediff2941 Жыл бұрын
Then how do i clean it without removing the shadow.
@MichaelCGrayPhotography Жыл бұрын
@@buddystylediff2941 In photoshop use the doge tool set to highlights or you can simply use a pure white brush and paint white where you want it
