Kudos for showing quality! Perhaps in the future you can show the difference between high end construction and ordinary. I won't say that I don't have some cash fashion items because I do and found them at a thrift store. Didn't get much out of it, which I figured on. Once upon a time, A long long time ago, price was an indicator of quality. Many stores has sections called "better dresses" which had very nice clothes but not designer. They cost quite a bit too. These days even designer clothes often are crap. So one needs to check everything. I started sewing because I got sick of sleeves not being long enough, shallow front pockets on skirts and pants and to get better quality. Also was able to create more edgier clothing. I buy my stretch chino trousers in the men's department of Wal-Mart. Tough cotton blend fabric, deep pockets and fits my rectangular figure well. Plus it costs me $19. I have four pairs I've worn for over five Yeats regularly and are holding up without mending them. No color fading and more resistant to bleech. Hospitality has workers in contact with bleach. I do buy clearance t-shirts at Wal-Mart too for $2-3. I tend to shop at thrift stores and am picky about what I buy. Hence a small wardrobe compared to most. I like to refrashion my clothes too. That way I feel li!e I'm wearing new. My clothes are easily dressed up or down as needed for work and casual. I can go from.business professional to Goth/Punk. I do own three silk Hanbok for formal.occasions.

This is so helpful! It’s really hard to find info about the quality and manufacturing of women’s clothing, and your channel has been a lifeline. Appreciate you!

I hate buying clothes because the ones I can afford are trash. So I just stick with what I have.

I don't understand how buttons are sewn on sometimes. A few times I would be able to just pull on the loose end of the thread and the thread comes out completely. It's like it was a bad machine stitch.

Regarding the seams, how often do people have seams give out? I mean, with a couple of dirt cheap dresses we bought whilst travelling the world from random unbranded stores there were some where the seams were actually the failure point, but those were

The rule 'you get what you pay for' is not always correct and Zara and H&M r not always bad quality. I have some Ts, tops and sweaters from both, all from the clearance rack too. All are good quality and still last me even though bought over 10 yrs ago. On the other hand, that cute little nylon backpack from Temu (got 6 mths ago), the lining is starting to rip at the seams in some places. The shell is good quality though.

While I agree that it's not always bad quality, some stores that in the past had better quality aren't making their clothes to last like they used to. I don't know if I grabbed a wrong batch but some of my newer Old Navy leggings aren't lasting me and my older O.N. clothes lasted a really long time.

Nice video. I have never bought anything from Zara or H&M. I always look for very well-made garments 😅 the clothes from Zara are not my style anyway

That store you didn’t name that started with Za… yeah they don’t treat their employees well across the board, I work with a union that represents a few stores. Can’t imagine that means they treat their garment workers well. I mean assuming I’m thinking of the same store, you didn’t name it after all 🌚

Alex is just so much more knowledgeable than Jennifer though. Jennifer thinks Veronica Beard is one person. She doesn’t see the utility of acrylic, polyester, synthetics. She recommends poor quality low tier cashmere. I enjoy her videos but she just doesn’t seem to be an expert. She has a good eye but isn’t always right.

Alex Neuf; Help Out Us Men that don't know has much has you know; do a video just like this one; comparing "Men's Garments" From Different Retailer's. Since you worked in a "Sewing Factory" You KNOW "What" Too Look For; So tell us in your experience; which are the "Higher Quality" Men's Brands.???

You know, it's good information and I appreciate it. I do hope in future you'll not try internet shaming retailers. We now know what to look for at every store and the shaming detracts from the improving quality of your content.

Why are you worried about the feelings of fast fashion retailers who wouldn’t even look at you if you were on fire (and also don’t treat their workers well)
@Doctor_Al2 ай бұрын
You know, it just creates a negative, hostile, argumentative environment, invites comments like yours and detracts from the quality of conversation. Kind of like your comment. I really don't care about the retailers "feelings".
@JOJO-ug9ei2 ай бұрын
@@appl3fritt3rcritt3rExactly! Maybe it will make the retailers improve their quality rather than trying to pass off crap quality at higher prices. It’s been a long time since I shopped at these “pretend quality” stores as I’d rather spend my money on better quality items that will last. It makes me sad that younger people will never experience the quality I had available as a young woman.
@appl3fritt3rcritt3r2 ай бұрын
@@Doctor_Al believing that something is insufficient or could be better simply because you can’t process it as intended through the way it was presented doesn’t make it an outside problem, just something to be fixed inside of you.

To be honest ………I’ve got clothes from H&M from 30+ yrs ago. And many years from Zara. None of my fast fashion clothes have ever worn out. I just want to switch up my style. Not everyone wants to have a piece of clothing forever. That’d be really boring! I’ve got H&M clothes much older than you. Maybe check back in 30 yrs. Did not agree with you on all this.
@LesChicosDolciАй бұрын
The quality was much better 30 years ago.
@sofi1063Ай бұрын
Whether you want to change up your style shouldn't be an environmental issue. The problem with low quality is that it leads people to overconsume and shortens life's spam of the garments. If you had a high-quality piece that you no longer wanted, you could pass on to some one else. And that piece could be worn for may other years, centuries even. The same couldn't be said about the low quality ones
