@@EspeonMistress00 monopoly. Corporate chains have been wiping out family owned businesses and small mom and pop stores for a while. With tolerance for shoplifting so high (ie requiring that a shoplifter has to steal around $1000 worth of product to be prosecuted), even chains like CVS and Walgreens are giving up and moving online. If Amazon, which already has a lionshare of online retail, corners the physical super market , with their promise of advanced security and easy shopping (and I'm guessing cheaper prices?) they'll eventually drive everyone else out of business. Then the consumer is at Amazon's mercy. Add to that, the crap ton of data that they've collected on you while you're using their services.

A career is a job set in a person's life, something that will be able to sustain them and their cost of living for years, minimum wage jobs are not careers because they will not be able to keep up with the cost of living years down the road. While I do believe that taking away these jobs will be a detriment to millions of people, it's either that or slowly being lowered into the pit of poverty until they are struggling to make their next bill payment. For example, if you have a sensory processing disorder, like many on the Autism Spectrum do, you might avoid shopping centers bc of the high traffic and loud noises. You might be more likely to shop in a grocer like this one, which will add to your quality of life and overall independence. To lower prices of meat and veggies means to cut already tight farmers wages. I don’t understand how people think that’s a positive. We need to be willing to pay for quality. The machines create just as many jobs as they replace, Amazon trains people on these machines, all they did was replace a minimum wage job with a trained position they pay more for. This only affects people not willing to grow with technology and there are always going to be places that don’t offer this. These 2 negatives aren’t actually bad things. Personally I’d rather see farmers not go out of business and for untrained low paid families to get out of ruts the education system didn’t protect them from. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

If these ridiculous jobs that add little value to the society actually got replaced by robots, finally people can aspire to do something else for the same money if not more and maybe even from the comfort of their home. The minute I saw this I legit went "that's cool... But wouldn't that kinda mess up so much in our economy?" Yes. Yes it would. Would I visit it maybe once to see what it's like? Probably. Would I ever go to it again afterwards? Yeah, probably not.

How tho? Us cashiers are thankful for this. Y’all call us slow & whine and complain abt every little thing. Scan your own shit. There’s already a self checkout. This will actaully create more jobs. People will be needed to build the buggies, restock the food, & keep the store clean & maintenance the cart. Y’all overreact a bit much

@MIAOU LE PITIT CHAT my evidence is common sense. Obviously someone has to build the robot carts. It’s common sense a human will have to repair it or help if something goes wrong. It’s common sense to know a human will help with the stocking 🤦🏾 just shut up!

I was actually recently thinking my social anxiety started when technology started reducing my daily in person interactions to the point my social skills were negatively affected. My social anxiety only got better when I forced myself into situations where I interact with others.

The review stars being listed is all good until you look at the reviews for the most expensive steaks and see its at 2 stars because most of the reviews are from people who cooked the steak well past well done and said it was tough, chewy, grisly and fatty. Source: my favourite Aberdeen Angus steak burgers are £3.20 for two patties at ASDA in England and is rated 3 stars.

Amazon reviews are faked anyways…if it’s a high rating you click on the review it goes to completely different items with higher ratings. All as a means to scam ppl into thinking something is worth more than the 10 cents it cost to make it.

This is very similar to most stores in Sweden. You grab a scanner when you enter the store, scan each item as you pack then, and on the way out return the scanner. The payment is done by just scanning your card or phone and entering your PIN.
