The Robertson wire twisters are used to add safety wire to nuts on bolts in aircraft to keep them from backing off. Used also on racing engines ... the wire does NOT go into the handle. Two ends of the wire are held in the teeth of the pliers and locked into place. The knurled handle is pulled to rapidly twist the wire as it turns the entire assembly. You release the lock on the handles and use the cutter located at the teeth of the pliers... used these for years. The "hand crank" drills you spoke of are called Brace & Bit. Great finds...

Hi Rusty, Barry from New Zealand, I have been watching you, I have been a tool collector for years. You need to buy yourself a copy of Antique Trader Price Guide. Tools from the 1700 through to the 20th century. Rusty you have more than 1000 dollars . There are now wood planes in USA that are fetching up to 40,000 USA at auction. Best of luck. NZ

Yes... forgive me but Rusty proves that even a blind pig can find an acorn. His senses about what may be valuable is spot on 92.75% of the time!

Hey Rusty, how do you tell if a chain is 14K when the clasp is marked 14K but you think someone might have put it on a plated chain?

2 best ways if you are not sure: Either take it to a nice pawn shop or jewelry store and ask them to put it in their machine to test it. Alternatively, you would need to take a file or knife and cut small place and put the acid directly on a spot that has been cut below the outer surface. This is difficult and results in damage to the piece, so it's sort of a last resort.

At minute 52:20 you have a powder meter for people who make their own bullets, the ones from all brands are quite similar and they have been manufactured the same for many years...they are part of a large machine with parts with functions specifics in the construction of a bullet...I don't think it has a great value, unless it is for a collector

Even though I'm a woman I have always loved vintage tools and do look for them. I guess because my grandad collected and had so many. I love looking for older tools and have quite a,few in my collection in memory of my grandfathers. I do have a few of theirs also. ❤❤❤❤❤

You have many lathe wood turning tools in your chisel selection. I hope you caught it before you sold them. They can be very valuable to the right person.

Nice finds, Rusty, nice negotiating on the price. The last item you think is a grinder, I believe, is something used for reloading ammo. (I'm no expert, have just seen them from time to time, am in NW MT where guns are a big deal).

$125 for ALL of the tools. 🤯 Do you use Google Lens or eBay to get a comp on each item before you decide to purchase it?
