People should be aware that the placket will now be too short with odd proportion with regard to the cuff. I would recommend this to beginner sewers only.

Tatsächlich habe ich das auch schon gelegentlich so gemacht. Die Knopfleiste ist aber dann definitiv zu kurz, besonders bei starken Männerunterarmen!

I was thinking this too... In my case, I would have to cut the placket off entirely. I think I will have to find a different solution.

Заморочно! Я ожидала какого-то более лёгкого решения, раз к портному подход отменяется. Можно вырезать лишнее выше застежки и сшить куски бельевым швом. И манжет отпарывать не придётся!

ou avez vous appris à raccourcir les manches avec poignets😠on découd la patte de boutonnage, on raccourci la manche, et on replace la patte de boutonnage ainsi que le poignet!!!!! Ce que vous faites n'a aucun sens!! C'est sur que pour vous c'est plus facile et plus vite fait. Mais ce travail est nul😠 apprenez la base de la couture🤨

Buy a shirt with the right sleeve length and you don’t have to do through all this waste of time.

Off the rack shirts don't fit well on everybody. For example I have a very thick neck so any shirt smaller than a 16 1/2 doesn't close at the collar, but the rest of my torso is more like a 15 1/2-16 so my only option is to either buy a made to measure shirt or to buy a 16 1/2 and adjust the body and the arms.
