How to Shorten the Tsuka of a Shinai

The tsuka is a bit too long for most new shinais even before use and it lengthens more as you use them. I've taken measures to fix this issue and find it helpful with my balance, stance, and tenouchi.

I enjoyed the video. I tried it because I needed it, but it came in any size I wanted. But the bottoms were smaller than the tops, so they were pulled down slightly when you wore them. Would it be okay to put on leather after soaking it in water?

Hello and thank you really much for this infomative video. Today i tried your method 2 times but in both times the tsuka was to short. In your video you sayed that you have to shorten it for 1.5 inches, these are 3.3 - 3.8 cm. Is this correct?
