This was VERY helpful. It worked perfectly --- ONE TIME. Somehow I had removed the ribbon on a few documents n my One Drive so when I tried it on the second document, clicking the 3 dots, it did not produced the Temp Ribbon only gave me a different icon. But luckily, I tried the ALT command and it worked. Thank you!! I've written up notes for myself -- using both techniques in case it happens again.

The 'Show Ribbon' button has disappeared completely, though! I've been looking for ways to fix this for ages. Has anyone had the same issue?

I am having the exact same issue. I cannot seem to find any way to find the drop-down button to show or hide. It is gone!

@@karenking8969 I tried everything from running online fixes to a total re-install and it bizarrely still never came back. I had to contact Microsoft via their site, and had a live text chat with someone. I gave them remote access to my laptop and they tried everything I'd already tried - he was totally bamboozled. What worked in the end was that we reverted to a previous version of Word - before some recent updates. And that finally worked! The Show/Hide Ribbon button (which also allows you to pin the ribbon, or to select only show the tabs etc) was returned... but I have to use a slightly outdated version of Word! The guy said that after the next update I should still have the ribbon button, but also that I'll have the latest edition of Word... here's hoping!

@@enesajakupovic9436 Weird. I replied to @karenking immediately after she posted with what worked for me... and my reply was deleted, it seems. In short, I spoke online to the Microsoft help people on their site (via live text), and after lots of failed solutions the only thing that worked was reverting to Word from before the latest update. So it's a slightly older version of Word, but the ribbon button thingy is back now, at last! Microsoft said it should all be okay after the next update.

This doesn't work. I don't that the arrow at the end of the ribbon or the up arrow at the top of the screen. Is this relevant for 365?
