Great video! I always complained to the coaches that most of the SS were either tiring themselves out or getting burned too many times. Great perspective from Nick Shaw! Love this. Thank you.

Yes. Good explanation for older players. If I can pay attention to the coaching with cars and trains in the background, and add kids having fun in the dirt, you’re a good communicator!

So glad I found this video. There all kinds of coaches out there. Some that know and others that are totally ignorant and just end up destroying a kid's confidence. I am also glad that you mentioned you didn't really learned the proper way to cover until you got to the majors. Some coaches expect the kids to know this stuff without going into it with them. Thanks for the video. Excellent!

Since I play softball, would I have to have signs with the catcher instead? If I play second base or shortstop.

Hi John, love the vids. Question from an older one. With a low 3/4 arm slot will you see same or less of a negative tilt in the drive phase than over the top. Shout out from FW saw a wizard pic the other day.

I stole bases like lightning. I didn’t care what the fielders were doing, they didn’t have the ball and if they threw it, I was in the way. There is a science to it. The pitcher has a move to home and a move to the base. Find the difference and you’re on your way. I was thrown out once in my life because my hair got in my face. Got a hair cut the next day. Catch me if you can. You can’t steal second with your foot on first.

Working him randomly and unaware of daylight in high school? Either a slow learner or not well coached. Competent high school coaches teach daylight.
