G'day. At the distance the projectile drops below the "Kill Zone", that is the "Point Blank" range. I've recently found your "Videos" and am enjoying them.

Pleasure mate. They are certainly a handy little rifle and one I am glad I purchased.

Nice one, I go for an inch high at 100 yards with the 270. Shoots a wee bit flatter than a 308.

OSA 55 gr gamekings, out of a Thompson centre venture, and a ziess 3/9x42 scope, I thought that must have been normal, it's the first 223 I've owned, what do you think the trajectory should be?

Without knowing the exact specs of that load I would say that you would need to be about 1" high at 50 to get a 250mtr zero. This will have your projectile about 3.5" above your line of sight at its peak for around a 250mtr zero. This is OK if you are just hunting larger animals like pigs etc but for rabbits and foxes sight in around 1.5" high at 100yds for around a 210-220yd zero. This has always worked well for me

yeah might have to spend more time fiddling with it to make sure but it seems to shoot flatter than that, I've shot a heap of foxes with it under the spotlight and haven't had many misses, I'm yet to have a good session on bunnies though.

Hi Robbo, looking at getting a scope for tikka T3 superlite 7mm. It’s going to be used mainly backpack hunting sambar have you heard any good or bad points in Meopta scopes? Your thoughts would be appreciated mate cheers.

Matthew, Meopta makes some good scopes but like all manufacturers they have a variety of levels in price and quality. They are not in the category of the top scope manufacturers as in Swarovski/Leica etc but nor should they be at their price range. Depending on your location I would also check who the distributor is and find out the warranty conditions and how long it takes for turn around if you have to make a claim.

Thanks for your reply, was looking at the MeoPro 6-18x50 with optilock mounts and rings. Cheers have a great weekend.

Personally I think that scope power is not suitable for your purpose. I would take a lower power range everyday over the top end of 18X. Just my opinion. Good luck with your choice.

Thanks Rob I will take that on board and keep researching cheers for that advice 👍

I would also have a good look at the Talley mounts for the TIkka. Very simple, light and IMO hard to beat.

yep spot on, I sight my. 223 dead on at 50 meters and it's dead on again at 250 meters.
@BoltActionProductions7 жыл бұрын
That is very unusual for a 223 to give a zero at both 50 and 250 mtrs. What is the projectile and load you are using?
