Tent wise I’ve used a nature hike snow tent and it was under 300 and it’s worked a treat in heavy rain and snow.

Pleasure Chris. I hope they have been of some guidance but don't be afraid to continually change and adapt as your needs change. Stay tuned for some more upcoming videos.

Good work mate, it's always interesting to see what other people take and can save a lot of pain at the business end if you get this right. I was lucky to have a good mentor in this department from the start. Looking forward to the next installment👍

Cheers PJ. Both you and I are lucky to share the same mentor with much of what I speak over this series being relayed advice from a very passionate deer hunter.

Great Stuff again... Thanks Steve. Other tent options could be wilderness equipment space 2/winter, it seems to be a good option and haven't had the condensation issue mentioned. They also seem to make some robust Packs. Cactus gear out of NZ also a great option for HD packs...

Thanks mate. The choice of gear is definitely endless and only as deep as your wallets are. Hilleberg are another fantastic brand for the extremes but One Planet as a company are also hunter friendly. I can't say this for all companies.

Good review mate 👍 maby do 1 for the budget minded sort as well u seem to have all the good stuff sorted be good to see ya thoughts on some cheaper gear
@BoltActionProductions7 жыл бұрын
Over this upcoming series I do try an mention cheaper options like I did with my pack. With most of this gear you get what you pay for and the only other option to buy good gear at a reduced price is to look for that item secondhand. Buying new stuff cheap usually costs you somewhere down the line and is really false economy.
@adrianick61917 жыл бұрын
Bolt-Action Productions definitely agree with u there. i just see other youtubers do it, i think it works well for showing why u spend the better money on things the first time round it goes like that for most things in life👍

I tend to do things my way and can be pretty stubborn. I don't really see myself as a youtuber rather a hunter that just shares his passion via video. KZbin just happens to be the conduit at this stage. Wait until you have watched the whole series as I do offer some cheaper alternatives where I believe they will do the job. I maybe stubborn but I always listen so once the whole series of videos are up I will peruse all feedback and work from there. Thanks for the input mate.

Thanks for the great series of videos, just wondering what temp rating sleeping bags you where all using? I am looking at a -15 but it might be too warm. Any thoughts?
@BoltActionProductions7 жыл бұрын
I was using a Kathmandu Polaris which is rated to around -10 if my memory serves me well. Better to be a little warmer than the other way round but I think you will find it will be fine. A good goose down bag will just keep your body warmth in and you shouldn't get hot especially in the winter. Don't get too caught up in the ratings. Have a good look at the construction of the bag which includes the baffles, zips, waterproofing etc. There are plenty of good bags available and some good bargains to be had if you are patient.

Hey mate great end to the series. I've got the bug even worse now living on the door step of the vic alps I can't wait. Just one question is your rifle a take down I just didn't see you carting it in by hand? Do you prefer not to carry your rifle , it's something I've been thinking about while planning my backpack hunt.
@BoltActionProductions7 жыл бұрын
Cheers mate and yes the rifle I took in is a take-down. You can find more info here if you are interested kzbin.info/www/bejne/fH7aiaFsrNFrpKs. If it were only me hiking in I would have carried my rifle in hand but Ben had this covered with his Black Bear 9.3
