I love your tutorials when they teach us the difference between very similar signs. Would you please do a tutorial on the following words, and teach us how they differ: said, say, tell, told, speak, spoke, speech…. Thank you

Could you do a video on ASL grammar and sentence structure? I'm learning and how to word sentences can be a little confusing for me
@ASLMeredith3 жыл бұрын
Hi Grace, thanks for your request! Grammar is a bit much to cover in a single video, which is why I created my beginner course for step-by-step learning the language for beginners! Learn more at bit.ly/ASLbeginner

Hi! I am going over the similar sign videos, I was hoping for I find one with the difference between careful, hard and correct. Also the difference in work, hard, and rock... Idk how often you look at these but thought I would ask! 🤷🏻♀️❤️
@ASLMeredith3 жыл бұрын
Hi Tarina, thanks for the great question! Adding it to my list for a future video :) but the *main* difference to notice between those first three signs is the handshape: CAREFUL uses a "K" handshape, HARD uses a "bent-V", and CORRECT uses a "1" handshape. WORK and ROCK are kind of similar, but the point of contact is different: WORK has the hands contact more at the wrist, while ROCK has one hand's knuckles 'knocking' on the opposite hand's backside. HARD, again, uses the bent-V handshape. Hope that helps in the meantime!

Very nice. This is good. Love your videos. One thing i would love to say back to the hearing that i get a lot is, never mind, is there a sign for that? would love to throw that back at them when they don't understand what I am saying. Thank you again
@ASLMeredith3 жыл бұрын
Hi Mack! Good question - yes, there are a few ways to express 'nevermind' - mostly commonly is simply waving the open relaxed '5' handshape, as though erasing/disregarding something, or signing NOT IMPORTANT. HandSpeak shows a few common ways here: www.lifeprint.com/asl101/pages-signs/w/whatever.htm and I've also seen the sign WHATEVER used to mean 'nevermind/anyway' and then the hands indicating 'put aside' to continue with whatever they want to say that IS important. www.lifeprint.com/asl101/pages-signs/w/whatever.htm
