How to simply filter poor quality fountain pen ink?

What materials did you use to filter the ink? I want to do it to a brasilian ink I have because it's full of sediments in the bottle and it's cloggin my pen. Do you think I can use a paper filter (like those for making coffee) in orther to lose less ink? I'm afraid the ink wont pass through it.

I used toilet paper for this, but if I had coffee paper filter I would use it instead of this. Clogging is terrible for all pen. Therefore I'd rather lose some ink than harm my pen.
