So much of tuning is about understanding intervals. We so often go flat when we don’t have our intervals down.
@SingBetterIn3Days3 жыл бұрын
actually being able to physically translate the intervals to the voice through muscle memory is much more effective for the singers that I work with!

This is why I like to record myself singing! I tend to sing an entire song, yes, but I'll try your method for the parts that, when I listen to my recordings, don't sound 100% on pitch (and honestly it's often just a tiny little bit off but ugh! I def. notice it)

YES!! 3 times perfect rule is used SO MUCH in music lessons, not just vocal lessons! I personally teach my instrumental students to play a phrase 5 times correctly, and as you did here, even on the 5th time if they mess up they start back on zero. Is it the bane of their existence? Yes. Does it work? Absolutely.

Tara, when you reacted to Lizzo, you noticed she had "dysphonia", that goatish quiver of the voice you get, and that there are exercises for that. Can you do a video on it? I have the same problem

I am a new subscriber and love how in depth you get in your reaction videos. Thank you for actually explaining what some artists are physically doing in order to get their sound. I would love it if you could react to Diana Ankudinova sing either Wicked Games or Rechenka. She does something with her voice that other reaction youtubers can't seem to figure out. I would love to know what she is doing to get her extremely unique sound.

Keep up the great work yall! I'm having to retrain myself after losing over 50% of hearing in my right ear. All those lessons I took as a kid pretty much went straight out the door. Thank you so much for these. Slow but steady progress to getting back to where I was before, and finding my new "normal".

Reaction Masterlist! If you want a good reaction to Voiceplay, I would seriously recommend several for you to choose from. There is a collection of their Top 10s, such as Hits of 2019, Bro Country, Disney Sidekicks, Disney Villains, and Disney Heroes. (Lots of Disney). There is also their Frozen 2 Medley, Trapped: Billie Eilish in 3 minutes, Panic! In 4 minutes, Queen in 5 minutes, plus their Elvira preformance done live. (Voiceplay never uploaded that video, but it should be one of the first options if you search for Voiceplay Elvira) (Also, a good video to watch, but it doesn't have to be a reaction, is all 3 parts of Geoff Castelluci's guide on How to Sing Low.) If you want Home Free reactions, then there are a couple that immediately come to mind. There is their version of Elvira, Honey I'm Good, Sold (which features Tim's lowest growl note several times), and Mayday. For Pentatonix, all of them are great. If I had to pick a couple, then I would have to go with these; Daft Punk Medley, Somebody that I Used to Know, Love Again, Run to You, Natural Disaster (they don't have a video of it, but any of their live performances will do), and any of their Evolution videos you haven't already reacted to. (Evolution of Music, Beyonce, and Michael Jackson) Obviously, and I can't stress this enough, you don't have to react to all, or any of these videos. These are the videos that I believe will entertain you the most, and are generally the ones most commonly requested for reaction videos for other youtubers. (Most of them feature a lot of the bass, so that is probably why. Everyone loves Tim, Avi, and Geoff.) Have fun!

Thanks Tara! You didnt mention choral singing... should be easy but ... some singers dont get it. They are consistently 1/4ish tone flat and will argue with you. Also proper support makes a big difference in singing on pitch.
@sassianne114 жыл бұрын
whenever i think im in tune, i am *always* very slightly flat! it's so frustrating! it doesn't matter if im singing or playing violin or tuning, so i just have to hope for the best if i don't have a tuner
@rachelhurst32244 жыл бұрын
Try raising your eyebrows. Seriously. Get a pitch tuner nd practice with raising your eyebrows and imagining a stretch right near your ears, relax the tension in your jaw, and focus on the sound opening up into your soft pallet. Also, check that your diaphram is engaged.
