@@Tarasimonstudios Mmm. I could have used someone like you to tell my mother that. She insists I'm completely tone-deaf and couldn't carry a tune if it had a handle. Though obviously, my sense of pitch is good enough that I learned to play four musical instruments including the violin, but between my housemate who winces every time I don't hit a note cleanly, and after 30+ years of hearing that from my mother, I keep my singing for when I am alone these days. Thank you very much for the kind words though, I appreciate it. 💜

@@JustAnotherBuckyLover it’s unfortunate that some of the most impactful negative beliefs about ourselves come from those whom are closest to us. I love that your talking about this, and as you said your range is not something that’s locked (the only notes you have in your repotoar or can sing) you can work up your singible notes to a higher note if that’s what you want to do. As a teacher told me once when you develop your bottom notes you will develop higher notes. Much love ❤️

Wow... this is so interesting. Singing (just in church and for fun), I always felt a little lost as a female with a lower voice, and tons of sinus issues, who sometimes struggled to even hit alto parts. I sang along with Coach Jeremy just now and only stopped about 4ish changes above him on the lower register. But I've never explored my lower register as much since I always feel like I'm trying to "catch up" with singers who have a much higher range than me. My range is still pretty small, I think, compared to other folks out there, but thanks so much for this video! Very helpful! It really makes me want to get vocal coaching. I probably have some bad habits to unlearn since I haven't had formal training, but I love to sing!

Last time I measured my full range was G2 - C5. This was capped at "Comfortable" singing range. I didn't break it up into registers though. I just hit the notes with whatever register felt most comfortable. I think I hit C5 with either a mix or head voice. G2 was chest, obviously. I don't think I ever tested my highest chest note. Anyway, this was a couple years back, but now that I have over 10 years self-taught singing experience (and more practice with my head voice thanks to emulating soprano opera music) I wonder where I stand now. (It's too late at night to practice but I will update soon.)

The lowest I can go is D2(fry) the highest is D6 (head voice once in a while when I want to)........ my prime voice is in between C3 (comfortable low) - F#4 (belt) ..... i consider myself as a Baritone since i have that depth in low register and my speaking voice. Some argue that I'm just an undeveloped Tenor because when i go higher my voice is starting to get brighter but it doesn't sound authentic to my voice.

I think has more simple method. 1. We go up and down in dark sound (low layring or operatic register) 2. Try in differet position (not max) move sound to forward and you get mix (if you cant move sound forvard - try remember layring when hair got to it )))) move forward physical same but bot so hard. 3. Then if you in forward (like twing) sound point you can't move up becouse layring position. Try go to back+up point like at 45 degrias. In this movement you go frequency hight and also layring slowly unblocking and and move to normal position. May who can fo this note can't get it in transition brcouse not understand uassle and it movment. Dimash do this case in simple passion then begin sound forward and when in mixed voice go up (back in angle 45 degress to opera register hight point). 4. Next whisper sound. Secret what in this compression you can-t create sound in exhale. But whisper creates in inhale. 5. And Secret very low note for man - its do not by layring. Its simple vocal fry with very low frequency vibration ;) In point 1-3 you mussles remember fast point for do mix voice. Physical for body very strange learning mix like couches try. You must get mix sound in simple pitch and then move up without lose chaest rassonence. When you remenber in all note mussle point for resonce

I find it hard to use my voice properly. If someone asked me to sing 'normal' to test my range, I would probably have 2 octaves. But if I'm messing around with different tones and approaches, different genres of music etc, I can mix way up my head voice and probably sing closer to 4 octaves. After years I've still never been able to incorporate the mixed notes in a reliable way into my register, and when I attempt covers I mimic the singer's approach and it usually doesn't work.

(Btw the highest note on a song for me is an A4 in chest/mix). So is there a reason I can't sound as full as he sounds or is just that's how my voice works? I'm just curious and maybe some other people have the same thought here idk haha
