How To Sing Like John Fogerty - Creedence Clearwater Revival - Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy
Have any of you singers out there tried to sing a John Fogerty tune?
If so I'd like to hear about your experience so be sure to share in the comments.
Known as one of the original belters, John sings pretty high and generally is at the top of his range, but there's a trick to belting without having to be at your threshold.
If you're you interested in increasing your singing range while still being able to get that kind of distortion, I'll give you some tips here as I demonstrate it for you myself.

From '69 thru '71, Creedence Clearwater Revival was the world's Number One rock band, and besides Elvis Presley......John Fogerty had the most recognized voice in rocknroll 🎸

Not only does Fogerty sing really well live, he does it while playing a combination of rhythm and lead guitar. Its part of why he amazes me every time i see him play.

Absolutely. I had to google him to make sure he was actually in his late 70’s when I saw him this year. He moves so well and sounds so good the “played at Woodstock” math doesn’t add up.

It's not just belting. his voice is very colorful. Lots of emotion in there. Any of his ballads (Someday Never Comes) or (Hideaway) are proof of that. But even his heavier rock songs. It's hard to replicate that.

Btw Ken, I love the way you watch yourself, very articulate and shows volumes of the strength of your developed cords. You never quit on the doorsteps of perfection and it shows. Without you I would have never found my voice, and honestly I did it all for free and again-this speaks volumes. You gave me enough content and training throughout the years to help me find confidence-not being so shy while I sing ( which is odd, I'm a Leo and love attention, but know my limitations thus far.) Voice acting ignited my way as it taught me to control my voice and the more I do both sing and voices they get better. You're not just a vocal coach, your a life teacher. You cherish the same values I do in life, and throughout life I've found happiness on almost any avenue.

A lot of their singing was natural or based on some sort of natural structure they had, in their vocal chords or whatever, but also, it wasn't unusual for a lot of these gruff loud rock'n'roll singers in the '50s and '60s, and I think culture back then just allowed a lot more energy to be fleshed out, there was a lot less self-consciousness.

There is a John Travolta movie called “Michael” and in that movie they play a bit of ‘Up Around The Bend’ and that is how I got into Creedence Clearwater Revival. Since then, I’ve got obsessed in all their albums and I just love them.

Let me tell you a short story from the last performance. Garden restaurant, 10 - 15 guests. I played and sang for about 90 minutes. World hits like "Still Loving You" ... "Wind of Change" ... Fogerthy - "Seen the Rain" and 11 other world famous songs. No one has applauded me all this time. Not a single round of applause. No one. Such a thing happened to me for the first time. I left the stage a little sad. Hey, musician! Come here! You have something here. The innkeeper called me. And the innkeeper gives me money. What? I wonder. For what? After all, no one even applauded! I don't deserve money. It's not money from me, explains the pub. This is money from one of the guests. And he handed me $ 50. (equivalent to $ 50 in our currency) Strange story. Excuse my weak english...☮
