as always, Ken says more in 8 minutes than most others say in eight years! Clear, informative, solid, meaningful, inspiring, and useful explanations and examples.... THANKS! peace

Hello. I've learned to sing in mixed voice because of this video. The "yawning" exercise.

Dear Ken, I like the fact that you can go "deep" into knowledge with your course, which I love, and then these videos you put online where you "simplify" how you work. Being a "lonely" woman among men in the rock world back in Sweden, I´m really thankful for the videos you put out there "for free" so my (male) friends can understand it quickly . And believe me, it is not so easy convincing a guitarist or drummer of the benefits of having a foundation for your singing. Thanks! //Pia

Thank you; your explanation and examples are concise and easy to understand. My go-to mixed voice exercise is singing _They Call the Wind Maria_ as Harve Presnell sang it in _Paint Your Wagon._

Thanks. Well yo. I can sing along loud and without effort, also can hold the high note longer if I want... but mixing? Maybe it's something I just do without knowing how it works? (Was able to jodle (?)when I was younger, but today no chance! Wish I could! )

Try doing sirens to help with your register changes, the passagios. He explains it in another video.

Is this the same technique Irish singers like Sinéad O'Connor use?
@maurizioita86Ай бұрын
You're incredibly talented 🤩 What if a song has only notes that are close to the second passaggio? Singing vowels with constant changes of the vocal register can easily become a nightmare
@kentamplinАй бұрын
That area is hard to build, but working it gently over a period of time can grow more notes.

Is there a limit for how high the mix can reach? Like does it depend on the person's voice?
@kentamplin Жыл бұрын
Every voice has limits however you can increase range to some degree.

Does smoking weed ruin a person's singing voice

Every inhaled substance has the ability to affect the voice. In other words, it can.

“Over the years I’ve smoked a lot of cigarettes, and I’ve had emphysema and pneumonia four or five times, so my lungs were really screwed up, and I had heard that this stem-cell operation would be good for them. So I said, ‘Well, I’m gonna try it out.’” Willie Nelson

I'm vaping quite a bit, but my main problem is nasal congestion ...I never know when it comes up... as of weed, it may undermine your will to sing generally :)
