Sentinel didn’t have to mark the Decepticon symbol on Megatron’s chest. He just did it because he’s being a dick and had a satisfaction in torturing people, probably also wanted Megatron to remember that he’s just a slave too. Every single action that Sentinel did in this movie was full of malice.

I really like this version of Sentinel Prime. Directly pinning Cybertron's civil war on a corrupt Prime was a refreshing new touch for me. As you point out, he's a fairly straightforward character, but utilized very well. He's the perfect catalyst for Optimus and Megatron becoming who they become, and the rift that forms between them. Nice work on the video!

Honestly, I love the fact that Sentinel Prime is part of a new wave of animated villains who are just plain evil. No tragic backstory, no motive other than personal gain, no redeeming qualities. Other baddies in this new generation of pure evil villains include Big Jack Horner from Puss In Boots: The Last Wish and Emperor Belos from The Owl House.

Yeah, I was getting tired of writers trying to force nuanced and sympathetic villains down our throats

I’m noticing a trend that each subsequent incarnation of Sentinel gets progressively worse. This makes me naturally want to one up the next Sentinel. I think it would be absolutely despicable if there was a Sentinel that freely gave away cybertronian technology and biology to various alien civilizations and sucked up to the ones who came back with the biggest mech suits. This would be like Age of Extinction but worse. I think the Megatron that comes out of this scenario would be feeling a need to prove that Cybertronians aren’t machines, and rallying angry and humiliated people to his cause, forming a vengeful Decepticon faction bent on conquest to set the stars on fire. Whereas Optimus holds on to the idea of freedom being the right of sentient beings just a little stronger than usual, seeing a larger picture. He and the autobots know that Megatron rampaging across the stars won’t undo what Sentinel did to Cybertron. Naturally these points of view are irreconcilable, and the two sides go to war with huge swathes of people sympathetic to both sides. There’s a lot of possibility here but I think when creating your own incarnation of Optimus and Megatron, asking how bad Sentinel was can go a long way in fleshing out motivations and themes to explore.

Yeah. Honestly, by the time One was released, even the veteran fans who were trained to mistrust Sentinel were surprised by how evil this incarnation of Sentinel is.

Hey, Astrid! I was watching your video on how wasted Mikaela Banes was and I agree Mikaela should have been the main human character, which is why I am making her the main human character for my 2007 rewrite (taking continuity from Bumblebee and a soft rewrite of Rise of the Beasts). Here’s my profile for her: Mikaela Banes: A 16-year-old mechanic from Tranquility, California who enters the Autobot-Decepticon war when she acquires Bumblebee in his off-road Camaro mode at a car sale. Mikaela forms a bond with Optimus Prime over their shared uncertainty about the future (Mikaela on what she wants to do with her life after high school, and Optimus feeling unsure about his leadership of the Autobots after defeating Megatron and Unicron at the cost of draining Cybertron’s life). As Optimus resolves his own uncertainties, he becomes a mentor for Mikaela, offering wisdom and support as she contemplates her post-high school path. Bumblebee serves as Mikaela’s introduction to not only the world of the Transformers, but also exposes her to environments outside of her small town. Team Prime not only learn from Mikaela on how much the world has changed in the 11 years since they isolated themselves, but they also educate her on what their culture was like on both Cybertron and Earth. Bumblebee specifically introduces Mikaela to the pop culture of the 80s and 90s and alongside Optimus Prime and the rest of the team, show her what it means to live and, in a way, be human.

Yes! I always thought the live actions should have a woman as the main human character, like in Bumblebee!

Thats why alpha trion reveals the truth about sentinel prime and he betrayed 13 primes and kill them and his steal try zeta prime his matrix and sentinel prime he acting defending by quintensons but noo sentinel prime is joining by quintensons🙄 thats why d-16 is full of rage this time
@nont18411Күн бұрын
The fun part is that Alpha Trion heard the conversation between Orion and D-16 and he knew that D-16 could become unhinged and violent in the future yet he still gave D-16 the cog anyway. And since ghost is real in this movie and Alpha Trion’s ghost gave the matrix to Orion himself, that means he gave the cog to D-16 as a test to see if he’s worthy of the matrix and D-16 failed.

I would love if they showed the different ‘classes’ on Cybertron. I’d be interested in seeing what that structure looks like and the methodology behind it.

At this point its basically a canon event for Sentinel Prime to be the BIGGEST PIECE OF SCRAP ON CYBERTRON🤬 I really liked what they did with Sentinel in this movie, as this honestly might be my favourite take on a character as hateable as Sentinel Prime has been in other adaptations. John Hamm gives a really good performance as the character as you can tell he had fun with such a piece of s*** like Sentinel yet gives him a personality of charisma and deluded narcissism that makes him such a fun villain, if anything they basically made *Sentinel Prime the Homelander of Transformers* and what's crazier is that this Sentinel Prime is more evil scumbag than Homelander (which is saying a lot) as Sentinel betrayed and killed the Primes, sold out his people into slavery to their greatest enemy, created a classist and racist system of government and oppression, secretly mutilated newly born Transformers just pay of his debt, this man is so evil he honestly makes Homelander look like a chump. One thing about Sentinel I find interesting about Sentinel is how he let his ambition and resentment over the Primes drive him to betray them just like how D-16's hatred and resentment over Sentinel and the Primes death drive him to kill Sentinel and betray Orion. Its a continuous cycle of death and vengeance and it makes sense why Orion didn't want to kill Sentinel since he could tell D-16 was travelling sown the same path of deluded tyranny. Can I also just say how dark and gruesome his death was at the hands of Megatron? He literally gets ripped apart, and everyone watches since he was the equivalent of a king/president to the other Cybertronians.

I love how the fandom have basically called Sentinel “Robot Homelander”, and came to the conclusion that he was far worse than Homelander, which is no easy feat. Because it’s hard to top inventing racism, and while Homelander had a fucked up childhood that created a fucked up man, Sentinel is just plain evil.

What’s the rule of eye color, exactly? - Megatron’s eyes changed from yellow to red to show how evil he has become (so are Soundwave and Shockwave) - Meanwhile, Starscream’s eyes were red since the beginning and he isn’t doing anything evil yet - And Sentinel’s eyes remained blue until the end despite being the most evil a*hole in the story Star Wars, as incoherent as it is, somehow is still consistent with the rule of eye colors. Normal eyes = Jedi, good guys. Red eyes = Sith, evil guys. Meanwhile, TF eyes are so arbitrary.
