This was a very helpful video for me. Nice to learn how to incorporate both hands for a more powerful stroke and do it later in the cast. I tend to apply the power too early. I noticed in many of your demo casts that you brought your forearm near the wrist against your belly for the stop. I was taught to do this and it does give a higher rod stop and tighter loops. Anyway, I am a big fan of yours, Tim. I still have your Beenie on my Amazon homepage and hope you get 50 cents or so from every purchase I make. Why not add another link for all your fans? You deserve it. Jim

I tried out your suggestions this past weekend, and bam! Game changer for me. So stoked, I was feeling it! I actually had to strip out more line because the line pulled taut in almost all my casts. In about an hour I was casting further and most importantly way smoother. (no line collapse) I'm a beginner and sort of self thought from watching videos, but I can see all the mistakes I was making before. I wish I would of found this info way sooner. Thanks.

Maybe not a scientist, but could be. Sounds like a lot of experimentations to get to the point of sharing this information so well. Thanks! Trying it out today.

Great stuff! I throw an old Cortland braided lead core shooting head (Kerboom)that weighs 1 oz on an 8 wt Echo swing rod casting shooting head style, and pretty much do what you do in the video for effortless distance. My shooting line is PLine Hydrofloat 50 #, a bit abrasive on wet skin but virtually tangle free. Thanks

More Distance and Power. I noticed you often show your reel turned sideways when demonstrating a forward cast. Lefty Kreh spoke of a method he called the "turn out" which he utilized to shoot line and increase his casting distance (as per George Cook video on KZbin). As I understand it, he used the technique when shooting line by turning the reel 90 degrees on its side during the forward cast. Less friction through the guides, less drag on the line from the rod surface...? Are you familiar with this technique? Seems to help a little for me.

Hello Tim You doing great again on this one. My two cents, why not trying to point the explanations based on the -casting principals - and at the same time put your personal sensations out there to everyone to experience. Respectfully and from a constructive point of view. I’m catching your drift no problem, but from a beginners boots, can be frustrated if they try to mimic your wonderful stroke timing and remember at the practice field your move sensations and explanations. We both know casting is related to few things, but also to our body strength ,arms reach and tendons or the ability to coordinate the visual references like eyes hands move coordination during the casting exercise, every single one of us is build different, so we all be casting different and reading different sensations to the point that what is working for me, it won’t work in the same way for others. But -casting principals- are a must to be clear in our core before any casting exercise is done. Love your chanel, because I can see the work, the time, passion and effort you put on every single clip trying to make the life easy to anyone interested in the sport. That’s why I respectfully encourage you to mention before any casting technique - the casting principals- and at the same time explaining about your personal technic. Keep up the good work please . Best Mag
