I started getting into skateboarding at 12 years old. I was skating for awhile when one day I was practicing and these girls walked by and made fun of me... I sadly stopped skateboarding after that.. I picked it up again for a little when I was 21, but put it back down because I had no one to skate with and had the same fears from when I was a preteen. I'm 28 now and am in that headspace of not letting anyone to get to me and allowing who I am to reach its fullest potential. Point being, thanks for the video. I think it's really going to help me. I've been going through an extremely hard time and breakup last few months. Ive even been feeling quite suicidal. I decided to pick up a board as I used to skate when I was a teenager, I'm almost 22 now. Everyday I've been going out and just blowing off some steam on the board and I've been getting really into it lately. It's helps me so much, takes my mind off shit it's just me and the board. I'm so greatful for it. If it wasn't for skating, I would just be stuck in my house all day everyday feeling like crap. It gives me a reason to get out and I enjoy it. If anyone's considering picking up skating, I'd highly reccomend it. Its not for everybody, but if you really feel passionate about it, then it can change your life.

my first board was from target and the trucks fell off, i learned the basics ollie (ish), pushing, board slide (sorta). so now i’m buying and putting together my first actual board next week or so, i’ve used my friends boards on and off so i kept up my skills. hopefully you get an actual board soon it’s so much better and you feel more connected with it because you get to basically choose everything. My school has reopened and Ive been walking from my house there and back to get some cardio but it takes too long so I got this old skateboard that ive had since 2009 but never used it, so im going to take it out for the first time in 11 years and this video has taught me how to use it and your voice is very soothing, so thanks, also now I have achieved the rank of 90s/2000s skater kid thus my vocabulary has advanced and added skater words such as narly, tubular and radical to name a few.

Although elbow and knee pads look silly, (and so do those wrist protectors) I totally recommend getting them. It was taking me forever to learn until I bought them. I was able learn so much faster because I felt safer. I wasn't as hesitant to go faster and practice things that scared me.. you don't have to wear them when ur in public or not practicing but it definitely helps when practicing :)

I used to skate when I was younger, and I had a "Walmart"-like board. I loved it but could never afford an actual deck or good hardware. I also couldn't land anything moving except an Ollie. The only tricks I could do were manual, kickflip, and heel flip. I NEVER landed any sort of shove, or a 180. Alright Braille you broke me. Next paycheck, I'm buying a board and getting Skateboarding Made Simple!

I remember getting my first real complete, got 200$ for my birthday and balled out, got like a 170$ complete and some 30$ etnies lmao, yall will hardly believe what happened though, like 5 days after receiving my complete in the mail CCS called me over the phone, the dudes words were this "we tracked your package and see that "it hasn't been delivered yet" after 2 weeks so we are assuming its lost in the mail or was stolen, we apologize for the inconvience and will be sending you a new package free of charge" so yeah, I got TWO 170$ completes and two 30$ pairs of shoes totaling 400$ value for just 200$ lmao, you could say I was the happiest kid on the planet, funny thing is they never even noticed there mistake even weeks later...and I checked the tracking nr myself and it showed delivered on the first one....
