Just starting the OS ticket lab today. The course has been a great resource so far, thank you for all that you do. I plan on getting in touch with you once I'm closer to finishing the course, been going really hard on it and supplementing everything you've taught with a bunch of other resources. Also been doing the labs until I can do them purely by myself without any notes or anything. Been following you for a couple years now, you're doing great things man. Excited to be one of your interviewees once I get my first job. Cheers man! You're helping a lot of people elevate their lives in this uncertain world

Going to sign up for your wonderful course. I am really interested in the interview and GitHub part and I am glad it is part of the course instead of only terminologies and projects. That helps a lot in someone navigating what to do after they learned this stuff. Most people just show reviews of words for their courses but the fact you bring people on to share their experiences is amazing to me. Thank you for your hard work. Forever blessed to have you part of the IT community 👍🙏

This resonates with me a lot. I’m In my last semester of study getting my BS in kinesiology (exercise science) and personal training is kind of the entry level job where everyone with my degree starts. I’ve recently decided that the kinesiology field is not for me. All of these testimonials have convinced me that course careers is the best way into tech so I’ll be purchasing the course next month. Thank you for making all of these helpful videos.

Society encourages everyone to pursue passions and without wise guidance most of us naturally gravitate towards stupid careers that don't pay shit. I did this too. Only getting into IT now at age 33 but thankfully the army is paying for everything so it's not as painful as it could be to start over this late. Def wish I was in your shoes though and could course correct while still in my undergrad. Keep your head up bro and always be learning

Hey Josh, been watching your channel for a couple months now. I live in the UK and turning 21 in 6 days and been wanting to change careers to IT. Im saving up to buy careers course but Im worried since im from the UK and dont have any high school degree, idk how well your course would translate well to the UK. @JoshMadakor Жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks so much for watching! Super appreciate that. That's something I think about a lot...how job hunting goes in other countries. In the US, you aren't required to have a degree for ANY of tech really, much less entry IT. If it's the same in the UK, the course will help a lot. It focuses on 12 "pillars" or areas you need to elevate for you to land a job as fast as possible and focuses on learning a lot of "mainstream" tech that you can find at most entry-level IT jobs (Ticketing Systems, Active Directory, General Networking, VPNs, Cloud (Azure), File Permissions, etc.) Hope this helps! and thanks again! P.S. I definitely recommend checking out the free portion of the course, specifically the third video (how to get into IT). Hey! I think there are a TON of jobs open, but the problems are: 1. companies literally have no idea what they are doing, so they don't want to hire new people because they can't train them 2. people who can actually do security well and have experience with it, either don't want to do it anymore or they don't want to quit their current job I still get a lot of recruiter spam, but I fall into #2 category. I'll be releasing a cyber course to help deal with problem #1. just my opinions!

Hi Josh, I’m debating which WGU degree I should enroll in, between BSIT (general) and BSIT management due to its speed. I have no IT experience (but decent personal experience) or any degree yet and I mainly just want to check the degree box. I’d imagine a BSIT management would be plenty to land a help desk job, so all the certs the BSIT provides seem overkill, at least for entry level. To me it seems more efficient to take the BSIT management, get the help desk job sooner and then later get whatever cert I need to progress my career, especially considering the certs expire after 3 years. Am I making the right choice? The certs from BSIT may be useful in transitioning beyond help desk. Thanks!
@JoshMadakor

Hey! Your analysis is what I would have said haha. If you wanna rush it, just get BSIT Management then get any appropriate certs later if you want them!

@JoshMadakor

I love chatgpt, I use it every single day. Absolutely a lot of jobs will disappear because of it. In fact, they already have lol. But with any new tech, a lot of new jobs will be born. Not only jobs but people will have more opportunities to "do their own thing" with the advent of chatGPT. Depending on what you're doing, you can literally do the job of a whole team of people by yourself. I don't know exactly how this will translate in the future, but it's going to be interesting.

I almost never recommend getting a double-bachelors unless you really want it or need it for some other academic endeavor. It's much better to pick up a cert or some training and polish yourself, your resume, and your portfolio. It's way faster than getting another degree :). If you really want another degree, I'd get a masters degree just to have it (which is what I did).

So the course has A+, Network+, and Security +?
@JoshMadakor
@JoshMadakor Жыл бұрын
Hey! Nope! Traditional certifications (CompTIA, Google IT Support, etc.) tend to be very broad and theoretical with a lack of depth and practical application (though Google is much better than CompTIA in this regard). Whereas the CourseCareers IT Course is intentionally more narrow but goes relatively deep into the topics. Most topics covered in the lecture portion have a practical component in the labs section that will result in you gaining usable skills and a better understanding of the technology. In addition to this (and MOST importantly), a large chunk of the CourseCareers curriculum is geared toward telling you what you need to do to get a job as fast as possible. If you follow the curriculum, you the time it takes you to find a job will be limited by your own preferences. In the "find a job" section, we cover: resume, portfolio, social network presence, interview deep dive, and application methods and frequency with an explanation of probability. Google IT support cert is actually quite good from a technical standpoint and has more breadth than CourseCareers, but CC goes more in depth with widely-used tech (hands-on) and actually guides you into finding a job. The Google IT Support cert would be a great compliment to CourseCareers as it will provide extra info here and there. Hope this helps!

I applaud people who make things happen faster than usual! Congratulations. But You need to interview regular people who was struggling with the course too but still made it. I am pretty sure those people who find it hard to finish the course in less than 3 months, initially wanted to do so but something may be stopping them to do so. Why are you only pushing people who somehow probably knew the material beforehand which might have helped them finish the course faster. Why interviewing the 1% only to push CourseCareers? You can show that regular people are making it too! I hate seeing those misleading videos!
