"Periods are unnecessary blood loss." Amen sister! Until I was finally given a pill to stop my periods indefinitely, I was severely anemic. Not anymore! I haven't had a period now going on 5+ years. Haven't had any complications from this either. From my very first period it was irregular and too painful to even move. I sure don't miss it..

Seriously tho, I can't stand it when ppl (either men or even women with super short, light periods & no pain) go on about how its "the miracle of life" and "beautiful nature" when it's just gross & annoying like, who wants to be randomly tired & feel like shit every few weeks? Actually speaking of nature, ppl in the past didn't use to have them all the time because they were either nursing, pregnant or not having enough food.

Xiomara, please tell your mother to talk to your doctor. If you are bleeding through everything, then that is too much blood. Tell her that you need to be checked for anemia and a bleeding disorder. The most common bleeding disorder is von willebrand disease. These answers are for general informational purposes only and are not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always seek the advice of your doctor/primary care provider before starting or changing treatment.

Love Bug hi! yes everything is much better. Turned out i was slightly anemic and my uterine lining was too thick(that’s what caused the cramps and heavy bleeding.) My mom agreed to the birth control and I was also put on iron pills. I’m no longer anemic and am still on the birth control. My cycles are no longer as heavy and painful as they used to be. Life is sooo much easier. I want to get off of the pill because of weight gain and all the hormones but my cycles may go back to how they used to be if i do and my doctor said i should wait until i’m ready to have a child to get off it.

i started my period 4 years ago, before the blood came out i had this tissue blocking my coochie that wouldn’t allow the blood to flow (i didn’t know at the time) so I was suffering from cramps for about a week or two, had to skip school, vomiting, and I literally couldn’t eat anything cause it would make me nauseous, my parents and I went to about 3 doctors to find out the issue and the last doctor examined my coochie and find out it was a tissue blocking the flow. i stayed in the hospital overnight and I had to get surgery to remove the tissue. the annoying part is that my mom and health teacher barely educated me on periods, I find out from my friends when I was like 11 from a fucking movie, I also asked my mom if it hurts and she told me “no” then months later I start experiencing cramps in my stomach, back, AND MY COOCHIE TF. but anyways what’s the point of me having a period if I have no interest in kids at all? waste of money and time, pain and uncomfortableness for something that I don’t even want

It seems like my body wants to have a period regardless, even if I do let it have a full bleed to reset it like she suggested. Ugh. I have been having breakthrough bleeding for three weeks. I’m just going to take it like normal because at least my regular periods only last for 4-5 days instead of 3 weeks. Trying to skip it has been awful.

@@PandiaHealth Wow, thank you for the reply! I have been letting my body have a bleed after taking three weeks of active pills. I come off the birth control after the three weeks, and then take 5 placebo pills and start active pills again on day 6. I'm worried because I don't know if she just somehow hasn't kept up with the medicine out there of if she just doesn't want me to have it. We're both Arab and she's Muslim and my mother insisted on being there and she insanely conservative and traditional and hates menstrual suppression. I don't know if she just said this to make my mom and her traditional views happy. I just want to know the truth and I feel so stressed and so hopeless like I can't turn to anyone!

I wasn’t told the bad side effects of the pill. He said it wouldn’t make me gain weight, I gained 20 pounds. He never told me I would bleed hard and have bad cramps everyday. So I went back in recently, and he said that my last option would be to take depo. He also told me to stop taking the pill, which has been a HORRIBLE last few days. After reading up on depo is this a safe option for me? Or will I have to deal with the pain of periods forever?

Hi! You take the pills until you want to have a “period.” When you want to have a period (aka withdrawal bleed), come off the medications and on day 2 or 3 off the meds, you will bleed. Then restart the medication on day 5 or 6 off the medication. Please keep in mind these suggestions are not a substitute for medical advice that you would get from your own doctor.

so just to make sure i’m understanding this correctly, if i want to skip my period i simply do not take the placebo pills that last week, and go on to my next pack and continue doing that until i have breakthrough bleeding and i take a break from the pill for 5 days and then start taking the pills again like before?

Hi Rami, You should talk to your doctor to figure out which pill would be optimal for you. For Dr. Yen, she figures this out by having her patients fill out an online health questionnaire. She needs to know things like blood pressure, weight, weight, medical history, etc. Without knowing that information, we cannot recommend a pill for you. Also, we only serve California residents so even if you were able to fill it out on our website, we wouldn't be able to serve you since you're in India.

Bella, if you do this before you are at your full adult height, you risk losing those extra inches. But if you are 2 years after your periods started, you should be at your adult height. There is always the risk of blood clots if you have a blood clotting disorder or if you are a smoker and 35 or older.

I have just started skipping periods with birth control before I just take it normally and for the first time I skipped a week later I started have brown discharge bleeding and it went on for almost 3 weeks. I decided to stop taking the pills and I started to immediately slightly bleed. It’s a combination of brown discharge with light red blood and a bit watery with mucus? Is that a sign of pregnancy? I took a pregnancy test and it was negative.

Thank you! We're happy to hear that you like our videos! Mainly Dr. Yen suggests skipping PMSDD by skipping your periods. If you have PMSDD then you can treat according to symptom - pain = treat with ibuprofen up to 600 mg three times a day WITH food for up to 5 days. Depression- talk to your doctor, they may prescribe an antidepressant, you could also try eating more turkey which has tryptophan which is a precursor to serotonin which makes people happy. These are suggestions only and not a substitute for professional medical advice that you would get from your own doctor.

I’ve been on the pill for over a year now and in the beginning it seemed like I would get my period about every 2 months, now it seems I’m getting it every month or month and a half. When I see spotting, I would let myself bleed for a few days then start the active pills again. I’ve been lightly spotting for about 7 days now (just brown smears on the toilet paper when I wipe). With this very light spotting, should I continue taking the pill or let myself bleed? Why does my period seem to be coming back? I think I’ve gone 3 months the most without a period.
@PandiaHealth
@PandiaHealth 5 жыл бұрын
each woman is different. And you might have “strong internal hormones” that have to be overridden by the pill. So you might need a stronger medication. If the brown smears, you could try taking ibuprofen 600 mg, three times a day WITH food for up to 5 days to see if that stops it. Otherwise, do come off, for 5 days, have a bleed, and restart on day 6 whether or not you are still bleeding. And talk to your doctor about going on a stronger medication or one with a stronger progestin effect. If you have taken at least 3 weeks of active pills, you can stop for 5 days, have a bleed and re-start on day 6. It’s just like the regular week off the pill.
