Would be easier if you roll the sock into a donut shape in your hands, pay attention to the orientation of the sock ends and pull it on to the base of the ponytail, then unroll it over the ponytail. Also, I'd use a satin/non-cotton sock, so the locs glide over the material and to prevent breakage. PS love your loc vids :)

The ends have to be crocheted into the rest of the hair by bending it upwards. I don't think there's any other way to blunt the ends? Hope you figured it out :)

A dread sock would be better it's basically a large bonnet. That way you're protecting your locs and more importantly your roots. This just seems like a lot of unneeded tension

This video is lit, but it seems to mostly apply to those with longer locs. Mine are about down to my eyebrows, so i cant pull them back and sleep or else its a hassle to style in the morning. I wear a durag, but then tying it sometimes causes my locs to sort of “curve” where the durag “lace?” presses down. Any suggestions? Its not really bad but it can be annoying on some days where i dont have time to really focus on my hair

Yeah a Do-Rag works perfectly fine for starter braids and twists. Wet your hair and maintain it or get out of the shower, whatever suits you, then put a do-rag on it then rest easy knowing your hair won't get into weird shapes or habits like beginner twists and especially dread-starting braids do
