Should try Ride-on tire sealant, and balancer. I have great experiences with it. Not only that it protects against punctures it hydrodynamically balances the tire, and makes the ride much smoother oh higher speeds. Literally use it in my EUC's, bike, and car tires (tire weights, and balancing not required any more).

I used that same slime for my leaky small tubeless scooter tires. It is basically impossible for a home user to remove/install a tubeless tire without damaging the inner lip of the wheel. It comes down to buying a new pre-mounted tire+wheel, or using slime to save $100. I used a kitchen scale to measure how much of the bottle I put in.

Especially important for wheels such as the Hero which aren’t so easily or promptly disassembled! Do you spin up your wheel just after putting in the slime, to help distribute the product inside the tube surfaces?

You could just get a good core remover with a screwdriver handle and don't worry about deflating just hold onto the stem with your finger when you go to pull it out and the wheel deflates in a few seconds all in one motion. Plus your guage is kinda hard to read when your dealing with units as small as 1psi can change everything. Get an $8 digital guage that measures tenths. That way your tools in your bag will be specialized to not give you too many problems in the field. Just some advice from a road service guy who's pretty used to roadside rescues. This video is great because Chooch makes it sound like you need the whole bottle when it says right on the side how much to use with different sized tires. Also slime doesn't just stop leaks...it slows down some bigger punctures so you can make it home, so always check your pressure before leaving the house as you may have picked up a puncture on your last ride but the slime helped you get it back.

Thanks for the great video. Love the content. Question. Does slime end up dunking up the valve stem when you check your pressure? I’m concerned I won’t be able to add more air to the tire if it comes up the valve stem. The guy at the bicycle shop who’s always trying to sell me tire liners says that this is a common problem with slime. It basically ruins the tube. Is this true?
@ElectricUnicycles
@ElectricUnicycles 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, "sometimes" the Slime will clog the stem. It certainly doesn't ruin the tube. You put a new valve core in (you can buy a bag of new valve cores for a few dollars. It really isn't an issue (I've been using Slime in ALL my EUC's for 6+ years now).

Tire pressure is very personal. IMO these beefy ~3-inch tires support running at lower pressures. Also depends on how much you weight, whether to do much jumping, etc. ~28-psi works for me.

I am a complete noob with EUCs/electric vehicles and I just ordered my first EUC, the Commander Mini from E-wheels.....question: Is their any mobile foldable solar panel solution that would allow you to slowly charge your wheel at lets say, a campsite over the course of 6-8 hours? Probably not, but wouldn't that be cool? I haven't heard any KZbinr mention this type of setup, either that means it is not possible or no one spends enough time in one place to charge. Sorry if that is a stupid question, just curious.
@ElectricUnicycles
@ElectricUnicycles Жыл бұрын
People have always thought that would be cool but a portable solar array will maybe generate 100-watts per sunny hour. A charger might be 80% efficient. So to charge the Mini it would take about 30-hours of sunlight 🙂 Oh, and you would need a special "slow" charger that could run off a 100-watt panel.
@TheSkyHive
@TheSkyHive Жыл бұрын
I truly appreciate you taking the time to answer my question. So, I suppose if someone wanted to take a leisurely trip across the USA on an EUC it could almost be done with a EUC. I hope tech evolves to allow solar charging in 6-8 hours. I know I know that I am pissing in the wind, but its cool to dream.@@ElectricUnicycles

What would be a proper amount for a Ninebot Mini Pro? I’ve got one, and while one tire keeps the pressure like for ever, the other one leaks slowly by the rim over a few days. It’s a tubeless tire, no puncture, just not keeps tight in that rim on one side of this thingamojing. Does this stuff have to be washed off and reapplied after a specific time period? Seriously interested in trying it out on my “mini Segway”.
@ElectricUnicycles
@ElectricUnicycles 2 жыл бұрын
Probably going to be 3 to 4 ounces based on the size of that tire. Be sure to use the variety that is made for tubeless tires.

I put 4oz in my minipro tires. According to slime instructions it's a 2yr product but I've run mine for 5 years now. Use the 2in1 version or the tubeless version as you know.
@kenspaceman3938
@kenspaceman3938 2 жыл бұрын
So what to do then after 2 or more years? Remove the tire from the rim and wash away the old goo, but with what, just hot water? Then naturally install a new tire. These tires are, by the way, extremely expensive for the size. I mean compared to like car tires consisting of much larger amounts of rubber, steel and whatever used during manufacturing.

@@kenspaceman3938 Just like they put expiration days on canned food - doesn't mean you throw the food away the next day. I had to replace a tube that had Slime in it for about 3-years. The Slime was still liquid and in great shape. If anything the Slime will dry out (which will only happen if you are adding air to your tire a lot) and then you just add more Slime. Given that most people will not have a particular EUC for more than 3 to 4 years, it's not something to worry about IMO.

I don't think Veteran had enough sealant in my Abrams from day one, I've had a time keeping it sealed around the edges of the rim, I'm just now trying Slime, wish me luck, right now, when I air it up, it immediately leaks out around the sides of the rim, meaning I can't ride it to distribute the sealer.

Good video Marty... can I just say, whenever you let your tire down to add slime or whatever... put a few psi in it, then rotate the wheel and check the line around the tire is the same all around on both sides. If you see the line is a bit uneven, you can easily manipulate the tire so its beads are correct all the way around... then pump it up. If the tire has gotten crooked when you let it down... and you just pump it up... the tire can be wobbly on the rim... Checking it with a few psi saves you from having to let it down once more to correct it....cheers

They said it really wouldn’t benefit me. I asked because my friend had slimed his scooter tires and still got a flat and he said it was a bitch to work on because of the slime.
@ElectricUnicycles
@ElectricUnicycles Жыл бұрын
That's a really weird statement from them. Slime's use has nothing to do with a tire being tubeless or having a tube. You use different variants of Slime depending on the tire. Look, if you don't care about having a flat while you are out riding or want to enjoy changing tubes when you do get a flat, then don't use Slime. Personally I don't want to ruin my day if I get a nail or thorn in my tire.
