How to Slip Bark off a Tree

We have a bunch of saplings undermining a pond damn that we need to clear off, to keep the pond at a health level for the fish. Scott shows how to slip bark. This can be used for shingling a semi-permeant survival shelter or for use in primitive projects.

Yes I want to kill a tree before it gets too big and falls on my greenhouse. The scrub oaks are easy but I'm doing a sweetgum now.
