Fascinating. Do you use different fabric on the one project. I have cottons silks, poly, rayon etc. Looking at them I am not sure what they are because some I got friom charity shops liking the prints. is it okay to use different types of fabrics?

Yes! Crazy quilting uses all types of fabric. Anything goes! If a particular fabric is very stretchy you could iron stabilizer to the back but other than that feel free to mix fabrics. In this piece I mixed silks and cotton fabrics and the trims are a mix of materials. 😊🧵🪡

I wanted to tell you that a week or two ago I was making a yo yo pouch and following someone's pattern for the sewing part but I was on my own with the slow stitching. I found myself able to decide what to do based on some techniques you taught in your "Just One Stitch" fabric collage video. So thank you for that! I'm still finishing up that piece and plan to finish that and the yo yo pouch before starting anything else. But I want to make your dog square and now I want to make something like this piece!

@@scaper232 The fabrics are scraps collected over the years and the trims, lace and cordings are too. Online, check ebay for swatches of fabrics sold in lots, like 6”x6” or 8”x8” squares of sari silk or cotton fabrics. Some fabric shops also have an extensive haberdashery section where you can buy the trims and cording by the yard. There used to be a family owned shop like this local to me so that’s where I started my collection of trims. You can search for “deadstock” fabric shops that sell off-cuts from the garment industry. These places are wonderful for finding fabrics. Many sell online and in person. Sometimes second hand shops are good places too. 😊🧵🪡

Im liking this type of quilting. There's no rule, anything goes, but course mut coordinate colors, textures, patterns. All by hand. Pieces of beautiful things. Looks like some fabrics are not even pure cotton.

Hadih🤲 I've done mine wrong, I sewed my fabric scraps by folding them the edges of the scrap with same thread. I haven't used trims or embellishments... I continously rearranged the scraps...I was trying to stick with cotton... Will try adding embellishments with this project, I did add beads... Nice work...👍🖖👌👏

I appreciate the close ups. Do the Frixion pens have a noticeable odor? I have severe chemical sensitivities and can't use many pens for that reason.

I’ve never noticed an odour from them. They seem just like a ball point pen. Also no noticeable odour when ironing to erase. 😊🧵🪡

@@sandrinou1329 I use DMC 6 stranded embroidery floss for most of my stitching. I usually use 2 strands of floss to stitch. I also occasionally use pearl cotton size 8 for a thicker effect.
