This is a great video. I love using the exercises found in magazines. It's like a mini lesson from a high level professional for the cost of peanuts!
@april5666
@april5666 Жыл бұрын
I agree with all who've commented here: this was a brilliant idea, Meg. It was so clear that you and the ponies were working really, really hard and improving. You must have been wiped mentally as well as physically doing three different set-ups and riding them with different levels of ponies. It is hard to think up new things to try on your own at home and even if you can do that, you don't really know whether you're working on areas you need to with each horse. So hats off to H&R Mag to get experts to curate the exercises and add tips and expansions for each of them. I'm sure all of you and your ponies will be galloping up the levels of both height and difficulty when the season starts again next spring. I hope you don't mind me saying, but you were so polished and professional in this video. It still had your fun-loving delivery, but it was so well-done and so polished. You have been climbing the levels yourself too, Ms Meg. Well done you :)

It's such a detail, but I really do appreciate you saying things like "This is something I need to work on" because way too often people will say "This is something my horse needs to work on" and it's never the horse alone :)

Hello and Thank you Meg from Australia ! It's great to see how great all ponies have progressed ! I have a special feeling for Dora since watching you lunge her years ago when she was young and green to a well adjusted evenly balanced charming pony ! You give a lot of confidence to many of us. Thank you ! Marguerite McLeod

Is there any way you could do a collaboration with Elisa Wallace? She has a fun channel and seems like someone you would have fun riding with! WHINNEY matured SO much in just that one session! I think she actually liked it. 👍 Dora looks like she has something going is with her right front, left hind diagonal. She steps quickly under with her right hind to take off pressure from the right front. It is very subtle at this point. Just something to watch and consider doing a video of her getting chiropractic. I'm interested in seeing what the chiro says. Often they talk about how injuries can move around the body as one joint gets strained and other parts of the body compensate. I'm a huge fan of using linments proactively when doing lots of work as well. The work schedule I had my horses on was two days in a row, one day off, three days working, two days off. And if getting less forward, shorten work session duration and increase walk break times focusing on steering with legs.

@titanbuck7
@titanbuck7 Жыл бұрын
Riders: When you do your cool down at walk, try going to the buckle and just follow the horse with seat and leg. Mirror back with your aids, what your horse gives you. If the horse starts to trot, just gather reins and ask for walk and go back to mirroring what they do. This is their chance to do what they want at walk and when you mirror with just seat and leg, later they are more tuned into the whole body rather than bit pressure as much.
