I am using 90lb nylon wire for tope traces..i usually use crimps but after seeing this video and the one on the figure of 8 knot i tried tying the wire..the shell is ok but ehen i try tying a knot i het kink in the wire. Can the nylon coated wire be warmed up ro make itca bit more flexible..what wire do you use??

Hi Gavin. You can use just the figure of eight, you can tie wire up to 250 lbs with it. You can also snell with the figure of eight. Just tie it on the shank of the hook. I demonstrate this in this video just follow the link. Thanks Brother 👍😁

@Billyfishing_watch thanks..what wire do you use? Seems to be very flexible..I'm using AFW bleeding leader which is 7 strand nylon coated.

It's 49 strand wire. If you are tying the figure of eight in a normal manner, not snelling. You should close the knot moisten the wire and then slide it down. If you do this it will not kink 👍
