I think it's a different tactic for the female INTP. In my experience, we're used to being called smart or asked for help. Usually this is followed by "I can't keep up." Apparently it's the unspoken way of saying "please dumb down your conversation." This is not flattering and just makes you feel more alone. What's shocking is if someone calls you kind. Clever, witty, or pretty are a dime a dozen. Being seen as caring acknowledges the part of you that tries to show regard for others, often to no avail. Being an INTP woman usually means having issues connecting to other women and people, in general. Most of us long to connect but also fear said connection. According to Personality Hacker, we should "seek out our tribe." The one to be wary of is the person who gets your jokes and commiserates with you. "You are not alone." "It's ok." Those phrases are powerful and intoxicating. We're not looking to be saved or to save as much as someone who is an equal that values us as a person, not just a help desk. This kind of person feels plausible and obtainable. This is merely my analysis, thus, there is room for error.

To be honest, we kind of have to socially engineer ourselves every day just to exist. If we didn't, there would literally be no sense of progress or momentum in our lives, as we'd just die in a static rut, penniless and drowning in poverty. I manipulate myself to shut my brain off the best I can to fall asleep, to go to work, to have conversations with people (both small talk and big talk), to try and be "normal" around others and get along with other types to ease the experience of life all while punching down my weaknesses so they don't have as much power. It can be exhausting sometimes, but we don't really have much choice. It feels like we're on of the least suited types to actually living an adult life, since we are so solitary and reserved, which cuts us off from many of the experiences that we're told are part of "growing up."
@kyuuketsukikun4203 жыл бұрын
I totally get that. A lot of the time i feel like a mech pilot operating a body rather than being a person normally.
@Bad_At_Parties3 жыл бұрын
@@kyuuketsukikun420 Exactly. I'm so much better at all this stuff these days than I used to be, just through sheer practice, but that is a great simile to use. It reminds me of watching the Power Rangers go into their big mech to fight an enemy at the end of an episode when I was a kid. You feel like a tiny man in a big body, and you're trying to hit all the right buttons at the control panel in the brain just to get the body to move the way you need it to. Definitely how it can feel at times, meeting new people, trying to create fresh connections and facing anxiety-high scenarios that can leave you stuttered or stalled. But I think that the extra work we have to do just to function normally ends up making us stronger and richer people, because we understand the value of the process more because we're required to work for it. That's why when I make friends I make them for life, because it was a conscious and long term decision I made to get to know someone well enough to call them my friend, since I wouldn't bother getting to know someone otherwise. Our value assessment when it comes to friendships and general relationships is actually quite high it seems, despite us often having the most trouble initiating those connections. Just another upside-down day as an INTP.

From day to day like a computer program there are minor or major updates and therories to test in the real world. If an INTP likes what you are doing they will incorperate some of your strategies, actions, tactics and behaviors in certain cases to improove, blend in or if it is just better for that scinario. @hrakhor17835 жыл бұрын
@@CSJoseph I don't think so. I'm as stereotypical INTP as one could get and yet I'm very similar to the description Paula has mentioned (as a part of the "bigger" truth). I know that I may sound like many people that say that they are INTP because they did one random MBTI test but it's not the case for me. I've got plenty of introspection experience, backed up by stack definitions and confirmed my type by numerous people that pretty much study typology, "yours" and "conventional". I'm way too skeptical that I even validate reality. I don't trust people, knowledge that I have not processed, confirmed and backed up by checking all of the connections that such knowledge can have by myself. I don't care about peoples opinions, I no longer care about things that do not benefit my case, etc. I have to know someones hidden purpose before I take an action and I delay and reserve my solution until I'm certain that it cannot be used against me. I'll always take a path that may not be optimal as long as it's safe. I'm always prepared for everything that may come and confident in my abilities - if someone disagrees I will disagree with them and end the conversation politely, intentionally giving them some incomplete suggestion that they have to pull, complete and compile solution by themselves if they want to succeed in that matter. If they cannot - shit happens, they have to deal with it by themselves now. I know that people have flaws, understand that and accept everything. When people comment my flaws I simply say that I know, if I can do something about it I use my alternative routine to bypass it, if I cannot do that, I explain my weakness and tell them to search elsewhere. I may sound bitter and not likeable but my mask is quite optimistic and unwavering, good enough to make people feel safe and happy that I'm around and my distance to anything does not give anyone a lever to force me into doing something I would not like to do. I'm not aggressive nor apathetic, I do not hold grudges. My internal world is highly organized, programmed and protected, and my mask is very friendly but distanced. Nothing can make me angry or touched, no one is my enemy, I don't hate nor like people. No insult can touch me, even if it's accurate, I can still rightfully reveal a pro side of it or at least twist it into into something neutral that does not give my "opponent" a ground to operate on. My comment isn't solely directed against your point of being INTJ but it expands the theme and refers to your whole video too. I know that my writing seems very offensive but when I'm writing something I get way too cold/pessimistic toward others. Don't take it personally, I carry no ill will or grudge - anything you write/say without mentioning the good parts will sound evil and I think that writing about things that do not contribute to the point is unnecessary. Let the raw data speak! \o/

@@hrakhor1783 it sounds very INTJ for me, I do not think that INTP tend to be prepared with "strategies", and even though, when they are talking with people they are unable to apply any prepared plan, the inferior Fe take the control and push them to please and dont hurt, so in social action they are very weak, they never end a discussion if they think it will disapoint the other person and when they are giving advice, they are very insisting with Ne parent trying to convince by giving multiple alternatives, but after they may analyse the situation, playing it and replaying it in their mind, adjusting their errors, imagining their self saying that in place of that, and promising themself to not do the same error next time, and after being screwed lot of time, they finally make a plan to avoid those social situation !

There’s no way I could be an INTJ. I’m confident I’m INTP because I’ve been studying cognitive functions for a while. I think the difference with me is because I’ve been on my on since I was 14 years old. Maybe I just got more experience and had to learn in order to be safe all these years? I don’t know... but Some os the descriptions you use are very stereotypical and don’t really fits everyone. I think I’m a bit autistic too, and I am very sensitive with social interactions. I might not know how to manage it, but I see every little nuance of it. I am very aware of other people’s intention sometimes even when they are not aware themselves. Maybe because I’m so used to notice patterns that when I pay attention on their behavior I know what they are up to. I do get nervous and almost always my fé get on the way making me worry about others before me, but that’s only during the interaction, but that’s never when there’s a relation with money because I tend to observe a lot and never decide before thinking about.

It's just so empty of substance. The entire thing can be summarized: "If you want to social engineer (aka abuse) an INTP, then take advantage of their trust and/or good nature." This is true, but as an INTP grows up they evolve impenetrable and stealthy defenses to this kind of thing... I was easily manipulated by women and thieves when I was a teenager, but once I was burned I spent two years developing a system of knowledge. Once I understood what was consistently important (looks, confidence, street smarts), I developed those things. Not only did I develop them but I developed systems of optimizing them. An INTP that works out and consistently faces fears is a real threat to skinny, cocky twerps like the guy that made this video. Develop your feelings, social skills and physical prowess and I think an INTP is a serious threat to anyone who fucks with them, but instead of seeing it as a game, we see it as something that should be utterly obliterated with 10x the force. An angry INTP is a real and present danger that's difficult to see coming and can keep their grudge in a special place for safe keeping for decades. I wouldn't suggest fucking with us, but if you do, hope and pray that you're an early bird, or we'll be waiting. The irony of him using the example of the basement dwelling fat nerdy INTP is that although they are the easiest to manipulate, they are the least desirable to manipulate, because you have next to nothing to gain from manipulating these people. A successful INTP that you'll see actually moving about in society, that has amassed any resources has done so despite himself and has therefore in all likelihood already developed a state-of-the-art defense system against predators.

I usually allow people to think I believe their lies initially (most will assume you don't object, by your silence). This allows them the feel confident enough to lower their guard and get sloppy, while you amass a veritable mountain of evidence and contradictory statements. Only when they've dug themselves into a hole so deep they can't dig themselves out do you reveal your awareness. Don't show your cards too early. Give them just enough rope to hang themselves. On the note of "play a sucker to catch a sucker," I recommend watching scam-baiting videos to become aware of the tactics commonly employed. Kitboga is pretty hilarious. THEEYE SEESALL And what is the end game? What is accomplished in the shame provided? A lesson learned? As an INTP I do understand the desire to make A perceived character flaw in someone else stick home through shame. Although over time, I have come to realize that I end up looking like more of an ass then they did, And very rarely does that shame make anything stick long-term. Funny you should describe apathy as a vice (understandably, as almost everyone does), when the Stoics (archetypal INTP's) thought apatheia was the highest virtue attainable. Granted, the modern usage of the word is somewhat removed from how the stoics used it (as a sort of enlightened indifference to the passions and the world around them), but even that can be seen as a negative trait to most. It's simply illogical to try to change things that cannot be changed (such as how others perceive us) so the best option is just to focus on what can be changed (i.e. our own beliefs, desires and attitudes towards others), which is perhaps the source of INTP aloofness.

i agree with the most of what you said, C.S Joseph . nicely researched work :) yes, we intp's are prone to such social hacking. mostly we deflect attention. it's not that anyone (however pleasing or seemly nice they be) comes and showers us with attention ( and we work the least in earning attention but do crave it quietly esp if we are feeling lonely) and we fall for them. we do push away ppl, test them in a lot many ways before we even start opening up to them. so someone very dedicated and persistent with awesome social skill will be required to breach our defence. that defence mechanism is a bit lowered when we are hurting, lonely, or sad. so at such vulnerable moments we really got to be careful imo. the helping part -- was on mark. once anyone wins our trust, we will do anything to help them . not being able to help makes us feel horribly guilty. we try to avoid such feelings at all cost. so people may exploit us to such degrees and we wouldn't even care if we are exploited as long as it feel nice. as for material possessions, intps really don't care much for that. so even getting conned hefty sums wouldn't hurt them as much as disloyalty and unfaithful behaviour hurts, as far as i think. the dopamine addiction part is so so so spot on. i've been through the. struggled a lot . in my view, that's our biggest moral failing actually.

It's rare I encounter the opportunity to actually learn something new in everyday conversation instead of trudging through the same old boring platitudinous minutiae. I'm usually thrilled when I hear someone use a word I've never heard before. I used to struggle to understand why people would be offended by that. Like they actually expect you to not only be psychic and know which words are and aren't in their vocabulary, but to then pause and reflect on how you should censor yourself and edit your word-choice to "dumb it down" for them so they are less likely to have their eggshell ego offended. Then I eventually realized they don't consider the possibility that I'm editing to tiptoe over their insecurity; instead they assume I'm editing to sound smart. J Sev im curious about your age. I didn’t find pride in my intellect until I was in my mid to late 20s. In fact I didn’t even know I was in any different from anyone else. I would receive compliments, but I took them as half hearted attempts at flattery as currency rather than sincere compliments With no intent of reciprocation. I started noticing in college. I could logically break things down differently than others. I remember it started in a humanities class. The instructor said there’s no real definition of “art”. I raise my hand and instantly it popped into my head, “a thought, feeling, idea, or concept manifested in a physical way and defined subjectively by the perceiver.” I had to explain the last bit to the instructor. He got a little flustered, but I was complemented anyway. After that I started taking little bits of pride away from every encounter in which somebody seemed impressed. Kind of like a standup comedian getting a laugh. But then I found myself to be a bit pretentious. Actually, that realization came from A trusted source of criticism. So over time I toned it down quite a bit, and have realized that the greatest answer I could ever tell myself and be comfortable saying out loud is “I don’t know”. Those 3 words open An INTP’s world up. They promote active listening, as well as humility-based learning and teaching. Not sure if it works for ENTP’s as well, But perhaps a prescription for this channels fearless leader to Try.

It became very boring for some reason. 5) Questioned myself if I wanted anything to do with her, answer "no". 6) Told her straight up I don't think she's worth my time and don't want to see her anymore. Based on the lecture, it's safe to assume that this social engineering is mostly effective for the immature Si child focused dopamine dependent INTP-subtype.
@igglywompus5 жыл бұрын
@@bentooh2371 well it's not too clear whether subconscious or shadow development can actually make the child function more mature. It seems like developing the parent function to be more responsible is what matures the child (ego development). Subconscious development could make Si child more resilient as it shifts to the parent function when you cognitive transition, unconscious development could mean you can function without Si when you transition. So perhaps both subconscious and unconscious focused INTPs are vulnerable to this attack if they have an undeveloped ego and an immature Si child/Ne parent.

I did play Halo 3 and Halo Reach but I was never that good at it. I was too slow. I think Halo is more of like an intj or istp kind of thing- faster movements. I really liked how you talked about Si child. It's pathetic how weak it is pleasure and how lazy it is. I also agree with you how Fe inferior has a white knight complex. I can fall easily for the damsel in distress sort of thing which is why I though you were also going to talk about intps being susceptible to xsfps. I mean lets be honest, SFPs can pull the damsel in distress thing literally better than no one can. The thing is, INTPs have to leave their house to meet SFPs which signals maturity. I guess the thing to learn here is that no one wants to give you money for no reason and relationships take effort. All in all, I'm impressed with the video. The production looks good as well.

Some of these "stereotypical" INTP traits don't resonate with me at all. White Knights, in my experience tend to be FJ types. I have no interest in fixing others' problems if they don't appear to want to put in the effort themselves, and I personally find the woe-is-me mentality very off-putting.
