Today I actually had to try my best to help a customer with soldering and fixing pipe and I explained to them that I knew nothing about torches and welding but I try my best Google and KZbin to see if I can help find what they was looking for I don't think I was much help because I've never done this type of work myself I'm grateful for you to show a beginning video and explain what to do and how to do it so that is give me some what of knowledge of what I need to tell my customers when they asked me about soldering and welding. Yeah I was going to say the same thing. I’ve done lots of brazing lately and the process is similar but more forgiving in some ways. I’m going to practice pulling the torch away. I think not cleaning my old joints is another issue.

Wipe away the flux still showing before you apply the torch. I see this mistake all the time. If not the solder can run wherever there is flux and you only want solder inside the joint. Also, try to touch the solder only once rather than many times. It will be sucked all around the fitting no matter where you apply it. Just push it in. You won’t need more than say 0.5cm of solder Lastly, in the video the flux was starting to boil away. This is one of the biggest mistakes - if too much heat for too long the flux will simply boil off completely and then you have no chance. Having said all that to hopefully help, this was a nice video 👏

Love the advice but I don’t agree with no matter where you touch it. It’ll will suck all the way around. Especially on bigger diameter pipe. You need to hit the top and bottom it won’t always go all the way around
