I've always used silver solder for flex shafts. Yes, it takes more heat and finesse, but the process is similar and it is an order of magnitude stronger than electrical solder. If you're running big props (36mm and up) on 4S~6S, you are pushing the limits of electrical solder. It's just tin and lead......... Lately, I've started using Loctite "Green Sauce" (600 series) in attaching cables and wire drives. You don't have the loss of strength issues encountered when heating things up to glowing red temperatures.

Does the loctite 600 series work on wire drives?

Didnt know you could braze them back together, mine once upon a time broke on my sr80 pro, it looked like it was expoxied or something inthere and i was able to to like thread it back into its place and I secured it with JB weld, ran it from 4-6s and its still holding up great

@@IRONCLADRC also my sr80 has a smaller than i guess "normal" flex, and is supposed to only run 4s stock so shes holding up pretty sweet! Ive read on people breaking them pretty quickly.. ive thrashed this boat so hard its a champ. Currently looking for a sonicwake 36!!

That is not brazing it's a cold solder at best. I'm not knocking you I love your vids.

Big B! I need help man. I've got the blackjack 24 all stock. I've been running 3s batteries no problem. I tried hooking up 4s today and I got no throttle. Switched back to 3s and everything was fine. What gives? Ive seen you run 4s so what am I missing?
@IRONCLADRC3 жыл бұрын
I had an upgraded esc ztw shark 50a esc. The motor will handle 4s low mah but the esc will not. Esc is only rated at 3s. Lucky you didn't fry esc.

Is this method Big B approved for proppin wheelies? Good knowledge you are sharing here brother. If we want to use acetone here in California you have to fill out a cal osha hazmat form in triplicate. Stupid safty
@IRONCLADRC2 жыл бұрын
I'd go with jb weld to be honest it's easy and it works. PROP-N-WHEELIES approved
