I really like the breadboard holder tip. I don't know why I never thought of that. Literally had all that stuff sitting inches away from me asking myself "How the heck am I going to hold these nice and straight?". Thank you for the quality quick and to the point video.

Great tutorial video. There’s only one item I could think of adding and that would have been tinning small jumper wires/leads prior to installation on boards. Maybe that’s advanced soldering techniques??? But love all your tutorials and I save everyone of them just incase you decide to remove them from your library. I've been soldering for a month or two now, and the breadboard trick is really smart! Gonna use it tomorrow when I work on my arduino project. I've been using my helping hand to hold all the components praying no metal pins would bend 😅

I never used FLUX when soldering . Is there a difference in the FLUX for soldering versus plumbing?

Good question! The flux used for plumbing has a strong acid content that is too strong for standard electrical wiring.

For plumbing a acid core solder is recommended. For electronics, a preferably quality 60/40 flux core solder is used. You don't have to use 60/40 type, but I assure you if you did you won't regret it... it's the best stuff. But never use acid flux core for circuit boards.

Never clean the tip of the soldering iron on a wet sponge, it cools the tip down always use the brass wool

...you'd just wait for it to reheat. Also, it's damp, not wet (like dunking it in water straight) so it's only knocking the temp by 2-3 for ~5-10 seconds anyway.
