This is exactly the sort of musically literate instruction on tasteful soloing that i need. Bless the search engine for finding you. And thank you so much for a perfectly pitched and engaging lesson. You deserve, and I'm sure will build, a much bigger following.

Cheers! It's a very good guitar, it would be pretty embarrassing if I couldn't get a decent sound out of it. 😁

Thank you very much, that honestly means a lot to get a comment like that. Really glad you're enjoying it; all being well the 5 chord lesson should go up next week. 😁

It’s a lot simpler just to say, “Go to the IV chord major pentatonic scale at the IV chord”.
@AlexHedleyMusic20 сағат бұрын
Yep, that would work fine as well 🙂

Very well explained Alex. I was doing basically what you explained for a long time but really didn't know how to transpose it to different keys. It works ! BTW I'm a piano player ☺.Do the turnarounds on 5 please.

Thank you very much - would be great to hear it on piano! Lesson on the 5 chord coming later this week.

This was very helpful, thanks. It would be great if you could reference a song or two that uses the idea you are demonstrating. Eg “Clapton does this on Crossroads at the 1.17 mark”.

Thank you very much! That is a good idea, I might well include that kind of thing in a future vid.

I tend to not worry about the diminished fifths, the pentatonic dorian ninths or the root of the 7th minor dominant 4th. I just try what sounds cool.
@AlexHedleyMusic4 күн бұрын
Absolutely, fair play. My position is they're not to worry about at all, but that some people find the names help them identify what sounds cool. 😁

Dear Alex. Very nice video! Maybe you should Think about shooting it elsewhere? Or perhaps tidy up the background? It takes nothing away from your teechings, but I believe you would (and should) get more subscribers. Brgds Brian from Denmark.
