The one that immediately springs to mind for me is 'Key to the Highway', a hugely popular song covered by everyone from Sony Terry and Brownie McGhee to Eric Clapton.

David had a Key To The Highway live stream in April 2020. It's located inside his Fingerstyle Five membership which I HIGHLY recommend joining. Lots of GREAT tunes/grooves. Thanks for mentioning this song. I joined a couple months after this lesson, so I need to learn it. I just watched the lesson intro where he plays a killer version.

Lots of great guitar teachers on YT but David is good on camera and his playing is really enjoyable. I would listen to his playing even if he wasn’t teaching.

......not to mention the quality of his video lessons is so much better than many of the "teachers" that seem to be jumping on the wagon from some available space in their laundry room. Everyone seems to think they are a producer these days - not.

Yet another great lesson! David, you're not just a wonderful guitarist and teacher, but above all a mensch. Thanks for doing what you do: a roll model and inspiration on so many levels.

More great advice. Fingerstyle Five membership is the best decision I've made as a player. Highly recommended!

thank you for an excellent and informative lesson. I don't have the greatest of musical ears and And I don't recognise many chord shapes So I will set myself the task to find a guide to the chord structures of these songs although I will put them on and try to play along with them but that is never easy for me One song that confused me when I played it. it's a blues Jam was Mary had a Little lamb which I think is 12 bars in the introduction and eight bars for the song. and yes, I was really thrown by that 😁

St James Infirmary is one of my all time favourite songs, particularly Snooks Eaglin's amazing rendition. I've never been able to fully figure out just how Eaglin played it but enjoy playing with the melody nonetheless.

This has given me some goals to start on in the coming year. I've been a blues fan for most of my life, but I'd not really taken my blues playing beyond blues rock licks until the last handful of years. Playing a wide variety of stuff in my solo performances ... rock, country, bluegrass, 80s pop ... but I really want to focus on the blues more. I recently purchases some of your lessons from True Fire, and I'm excited to get started on a deeper journey into acoustic blues music. With "You've Got to Move," you've really given us 7 songs for the 'price' of 5! Haha!

8-bar blueses are cool. My addition to foundational 8-bars would be "Midnight Special."

I have very limited knowledge of the spectrum of Blues music and a couple of times it jams. I've ended up playing one ball Blues and I kept waiting for the music to change 😁 But I have no idea what I was playing. can anyone here point me in the direction of must learn one bar Blues please? I have had no joy in finding anything on KZbin, but maybe I'm just not asking the right questions
