You two are so awesome! Playful skilled - and so nice to hear what you can do "just" inside the pentatonic scale. I have a suggestion for an additional challenge. Goes along with the "rhythm is important" - a three note solo! Three note and then all rhythm. Would looove to see you go for that 😉😎

@@RotemSivanGuitar I think Chosen - Blxst ft. Ty Dolla $ign has a fun R&B-ish theme Riff, i love that one for looping and jam sessions, maybe you can show us some more suitable scales for that progression

What a great Video again.. Job well done! What i find very interesting Rotem, that when you play your notes, you always hum along. But in very different tones/notes as you play! Is that something that just happens ? What would happen if you would try to hum along with the notes you play? (or hum the Harmony :) Keep up the good work, love it! very inspiring.

Hello Rotem. Very nice video! Always insightful 👌. Can I ask you a stupid question? You were mainly soloing with pentatonic. I call that first position shape you were focusing on. Now, my question is should one play the minor pent. against minor chords only, then when a major chord comes up, should we switch focus to a major pentatonic when soloing? Sometimes I get so confused thinking about intervals, and how to express with emotion while attempting to speak musical language. Sorry such a long comment! Just curious. I watch you play so fluently. You make it look too easy! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Doug.

Look up Rotems video on ‘10 scales to play over Am’, since we all know Am pentatonic, this was a perfect eye opener for expanding my playing… also looking up the entire fretboard scale diagram on google to look at while soloing can help too. Have fun mate
@GasStationSushiiii2 жыл бұрын
When I don’t feel like looping, I just look up a backing track on KZbin, google the entire pentatonic scale and hit notes I normally wouldn’t play, and get some muscle memory off it

As to a favorite R & B song, would Autumn Leaves fall in that category? Or, Giant Steps? I know I'm leaning towards jazz, but that's what first came to mind!

Not bad, but try not always playing the next note in the pentatonics scale, even when you play on just one string. Develop your connection of your ear and fingers so that you allow yourself to play bigger intervallic jumps and chord tones. Otherwise you will just play scaleshapes up and down and it will sound like cliche , mindless pentatonic wankery.
