Knocking them out isn't the problem. The hard part is keeping them safe while they get tamed. They tend to fly in areas where, when they fall, they get instantly eaten.

You can move it with an Equus using the Lasso. worked on ASE, haven't tested on ASA.

@@watchdog163I still believe that works. If you happen to get lucky and something doesn't instantly attack it, you can build spike walls around it. That being said, I've tamed half a dozen with this method in the past and every single time, it got eaten on before I could stop it. It's a gamble for sure. If you can tame one, you used to be able to build a trap on the Quetz platform saddle and trap other ones for much safer taming.

If that happens and you really care about the level, build around it in a pretty big box and just knock it out again, protect it better the second time.

Great video! This has been my go-to method for solo taming Quetz for a while. Just a quick note for anybody watching that might've not realized you were in GCM during the video, but if you're grappled to a flyer you can still take fall damage if your flyer runs you into the ground hard enough. Getting down to the KO'd Quetz towards the end of the video would probably have been lethal fall damage if not for GCM being on. I like to reel myself close into the flyer and then mount the saddle to land.

Good kind of Quetz Taming, and always get a Stack of Spikes to Secure the Quetz on the Taming Area and Avoid the last Shot over the Water. :D

Fly beside quetz, when near a good landing site, drop giant bee honey, when quetz goes to eat it place dino gates over it to trap it. Clear area and build protection, knock it out at your leisure.

i always found these to be the easiest tame , fly above them with an argy or Pter and slowly fly down , for some reason this pushes the quetz down also . direct it into the side of a mountain then drop 10 or 12 small gate frames all over its body . this stops the quetz from moving , knock out and done

A startled quetz on any map will always eventually make it's way to the middle. Unfortunately for the island it's right at the edge of the redwood and the river north of it... an absolute bloodbath 24/7. Bring lots of spikes and pray for a quiet, dry landing spot

Try making a video on the tapejara-solo method. No need for a Crossbow (Grapple). I've been told its not possible with a tapejara, cause the bird won't fly if its grounded and you're in one of the passenger seats. To get around this, just whistle the tapejara to go into the water while in the passenger seat. it should take flight once in deep enough waters.

Or just whistle attack on any creature next to you, the Tapejara will take off, then point up and start whistling "fly here". I did it with a lvl 10 fresh tamed Tapejara, was super easy. It's also a lot calmer flying then in this video with the Ptera, so you'll miss a lot less. Just don't tranc the tapejara I guess ;)

You don't need two crossbows. You can use a grapple and tranq arrows from the same crossbow. When you switch to tranqs it won't drop the grapple.

@@MNbenMN Switch back to your grapples in the radial menu and adjust your length. It's a bit clunky, sure, but it works with one. Only problem is if you don't have any extra grapples, the grapple option won't show for you to switch to - which is a bug on Wildcard's side, really. But you rarely need to grapple in/out when actively taming.

The quetz around the redwoods all run into the trees to get away. Surprisingly easy to loose them. If you use a low level Pt on attack my target, it will stay with them while you dangle. Alternate passive and attack whistles so the Quetz doesnt take too much damage. Also, recommend darts - I killed a 150 with arrows...very bummed.

You can do the same thing with a Tapejara in the passangers seat I don't like fiddling with the grapple if I don't have to the physics for it suck.

My way is eat some rare flowers (not to much they stack) and lure it in a behemoth gate trap,around 6 behemoth gates first and last one needs doors. Close the door and kill other animals that followed u. I think this is easier in my opinion because your quetz is safely (place gates close so small animals can't attack it or just place some spikes around it afterwards

I tried the flowers a few days ago. They didn't seem to work. Quetz ignored me. I'm on single player but don't think that makes a difference.

I like the honey method better. Yes its harder to get honey but it gives you more control over where the Quetzal lands.

i never knew this Strat, found the first one solo always very difficult and a matter of luck to found one stuck or flying close to a hill where u can build it in, but this was geniously easy. took a easy lvl 24 as a first one, and will use that to build a quetz tame cage for higher levels, as i always did. does that still work in asa? i played ase last time some years ago. thank you! and congrats to your 100k dream

How do you shoot off of the back? I’ve tried pulling the crossbow out before and after getting on and he just won’t do it. I’m on single player on ps5 trying to figure this out but I have no clue how to get a crossbow or a tranq gun out while on the back of anything that flies.

That was kind of exhausting to watch--I think it's better to use an argy, and use two whistles "Attack This Target" and "Passive". Whistle the argy to attack it, and whistle passive when you're close. The argy only flies a little faster than the Quetzal and you don't have to steer, it will follow it wherever it turns. Once it's down kill anything near it, put kibble in, and get out of render range. Come back when it's tamed.

What's the Quetzal uses these days in Pve.I believe Argie is better to do your metal Runs with a Anky. To the Quetzal method I have not tamed one Since they where Released.They were used for metal Runs and kibble farm for the old system.I uset to tame them with my Tribe mate and never solo but the issue we had it some times landed in front of Apex Predator/Pack of raptors/Even fall in the swamp biom or water As some one said it's keeping them safe not getting them knocked out.

1 with its platform saddle or even it’s normal saddle. It is very useful for taming most Dino’s in the game that would otherwise be risky such as the giga or basically, any other Dino, you want without having to build a trap every single time as you can just fly low to the ground until they’re looking at you, but not able to bite you and just shoot them in the face until they’re knocked out makes taming a breeze 2 It’s for the platform saddle so you can have a mobile flying base. There is nothing more convenient than being able to put an argi anky and Dodik. On the back of a quotes platform saddle with all of the crafting utilities and doing everything on the go, you can just Landora mountaintop cleared out of all metal smith all the metal into ingots on the go and the quits if high-level improperly leveled up has even more carry weight than the argi does so instead of having to fly from your base to the mountain and back again over and over you can literally do anything you want anywhere on the map at the farming location itself without having to make multiple trips, and once you’re finally all filled up on whatever it is you were trying to form out whether it was metal or some other resource or crafting material or whatever then you just fly your quotes with all your dinos back to base to sort all the stuff and then you can go do it all again it’s not 100% necessary but it is very convenient.

Quetzals are kinda useless after the kibble change, the only reason mobile gamers still tame them is for their kibble!

They aren’t. They are still in amazing mobile base that allows for easy farming and crafting on the go slightly more inconvenient since cryo-pods are not in the game yet but once those are re-added, it’s great being able to have basically an entire base and an entire Dino arsenal, whenever, and wherever you need it. Also, still one of the best ways to tame a lot of creatures if you don’t want to keep building a whole bunch of traps all over the map as most things, you can just hover over once you have their attention and shoot him in the face until their knocked out,

Ark is full of exploits remove the trees the rocks the water and your PC will run fine, and you can see other players Ez use INI Ez Kill in PvP no one can hide from you and you can use meshing and exploits to make dinos breed faster😋😛🤑🤑🤑😝
