How to Solve keyboard typing wrong characters - windows

This video will be help to you solve "Keyboard typing wrong characters problem" . you can use these method basically windows 8, windows 8.1 and windows 10.
ALL you need:
Check your language settings
Make sure NumLock is off
Run the keyboard troubleshooter
update your keyboard driver.
Uninstall keyboard drivers
restore your PC
Buy a new keyboard :)

A quick fix could be pressing ALT+SHIFT since it’s possible the keyboard format was switched from QWERTY to AZERTY.

This was fantastic! All of a sudden, my question marks (?) were coming out as underscores (_), my colons (:) were coming out as something else, the quotation marks were coming out as something else. It was the third solution you offered (uninstalling the drivers and restarting the computer) that solved the issue for me. Thank you so much!

I was really frustrated for more than one hour while trying all these methods to work. I should have tried pressing Numlock first and make sure it was disabled. One thing to check before changing languages and regedit and drivers etc: Make sure NumLock isn't activated! If you have a keyboard WITHOUT a dedicated number pad on the right, and suddenly find the letters half way across the keyboard are returning numbers and symbols, it could just be you've hit NumLock by mistake!

So I have an external keyboard and when I try to use the keyboard on my laptop, the right side of my keyboard shows punctuations and numbers instead of letters and I found out that you need to disable the "NUMLOCK" on the external keyboard so you can use the internal keyboard properly. It's sort of worked for me before all the number options were different characters so were the mystic keys and then my m key would create a , and then when you press the comma it would make; and then finally once you press the colon it would make an end all of the keys were jumbled up and I'm still have a small issue my curl button still doesn't work for some reason

Thanks, I did a combination of your fixes I don't know which worked. I did system restore to last restore point luckily for me the last point was the previous day so I didn't lose any files. (remember to set restore point at least once a week) Secondly I deleted the keyboard driver, do not restart yet when asked. Then use the regedit option with your on screen keyboard, change to the proper language code. Now shut down your computer, wait at least 30 minutes before restarting again. It should type properly now.
