Probability is the measure of the likelihood that an event will occur. See glossary of probability and statistics. Probability quantifies as a number between 0 and 1, where, loosely speaking, 0 indicates impossibility and 1 indicates certainty.

I just want to make a subtle distinction here that had me really confused. When I first read the question, I thought you were asking "what is the probability that one child out of the five will have albinism", but after watching and re-reading the question, I realized what you are asking (minimum one child could have disease, in any order). Just putting this here in case others were confused. Thanks for the videos.

Oh I see what the question is now. The probability for albinism goes up as they have more children. Really interesting.

I think through bionomial formula the calculations is wromg and the probability is 0.39 or 39 percent

What would the answer or steps be if the question asked for at least 2 children with albinism

Why not use binomial equation. The answer I get using binomial is 39%

Do not forget that probability of the one event is 3/4 and of the second 1/4 - this is where you made a mistake.

I think the answer we get using binomial equation is , for 1 child with albinism but here it is atleast one so it allows more than one child to have alBinism Hence the probability increases from 39 to 76

Sure "at least 1 means": probability of effected as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 combined, the only combination which is excluded would be when all 5 children would be healthy.
