I have those injectors in my subaru, worth every penny paid for them, along with new rails and fuel pulse dampers and rails from radium. The stock fuel pulse damper was not doing a good job, it was overwhelmed by the big 1300X series injectors, once the radium fuel pulse dampers were installed the tuner cleaned up my fuel map and the car idles even better and I think the mileage went up, my driving habits really haven't changed at all, so a combination of cleaner fuel mapping and pulse dampers really helped. I visit the gas station every 240 miles per tank instead of 190-200 miles per tank with the previous tune.

Sadly the Speed Density part of this video didn't age well with the Cobb Green speed update. Luckily with there's Haltech packages out there that use the old TGV plugs as inputs with Haltech's IO expansion module to make going speed density easy still, just a little more expensive. Great video's as always Mike!

Iwire doesn't suggest 1 big fuel pump but instead 2 smaller fuel pumps to equal the desired flow rate. 1 big pump will start to fry the fuel pump controller due to the load going through the wiring. Smaller pumps will half the amp load while still having the fuel flow for desired goals. That's why the radium dual fuel pump hangar is a good solution for projects that range from mild to wild.

I really like the attention to detail you put into building this motor. Hope to see a video of it completed. Yes Race teams have big budgets. Especially over in CA where I see you are located. I would like to know the MSRP for all the extra treatments and coatings. You do great work. I meant no disrespect. I think WPC treatment is the greatest thing since pasturized milk. Wish I had a racing team budget/write off. Good Day.

I heard it could mess with the knock detection system because the sensor is closest to cyl 4 and it should be the first to knock. I don't i just remember reading a lot of mixed things about it. To me it does sound a bit silly to create a system that relies on poor coolant flow.
@evilclownatwork Жыл бұрын
@@dildodickings2668 that might make sense actually, considering your ecu would make corrections based on knock.

@@evilclownatwork But to desing a system where one cylinder heats up more seems weird. Maybe it just happened, they figured it's not a problem and put a knock sensor there. Don't know i have no clue honestly

I've been looking at buying this for a long time but I've always been concerned that at higher G loads it will starve out. My Subaru is pretty highly modified towards autocross and time attack. Is there any bench test data for G load starvation at various flow rates?
@motoiq3 жыл бұрын
Fuel starvation is pretty apparent. If the car staves due to slosh, it will bog.

MY tuner said (im running ecutek) that speed density is not as good as light loads. He suggested hybrid mode with Speed density above like 1,4bar boost and below to stay at MAF. I kinda want speed densitiy because of my athmostpheric Blow off and the engine is running crazy rich at those times. What do you guys with speed density are running? I bought that kit from Radian a few years ago. The fuel pump fell apart about a day after installing because the epoxy glue wasn't rated for gasoline. Radian customer service was nil. When I went to check it a week later. The all the wire insulation fell off because again it wasn't for use in gasoline. Radian customer service didn't help with that either. I was able to fix everything myself using marine epoxy and proper insulation but I was very disappointed in the products and Radian. I know a lot of people use their products and they work flawless but I for one will never buy another product from them.
@motoiq3 жыл бұрын
Are you sure? 1. Radium doesn't make the fuel pump, 2. All of the Radium provided wiring and parts are either metal or rated for exotic fuels. 3. we have been using these in our cars and customer cars for years and have never had one single problem ever.
@lukerogers783 жыл бұрын
@@motoiq Radian doesn't make the fuel pump but they adapt it to work for the STi. Radian told me to contact Ti Automotive (brushless Veryon pump) but there was nothing wrong with the pump, it was were it adapts to the Subaru parts. I bought it all though Radian and sent them the pictures of everything when it fell apart. They told me how to fix it myself and never once apologized.
