Sounds good. Probably more gain than you need. People don't realize, those 70's guys didn't use that much distortion Keep rockin

Sounds good,but way more gain than Angus
@captainhotbunz6592 жыл бұрын
That’s because Angus doesn’t use any gain at all. He plugs his SG straight into the Marshall plexi….. he has the amp dimed, so it sounds overdriven because it is. So that’s how he’s getting his “gain”
@johnstafford6779 Жыл бұрын
“You shook me all night long” is the ultimate gain test. If you can’t hear all the individual picked notes in the chorus it’s too much gain. This is a little too much. But not like some of the idiots who hear Randy Rhoads tone in their head when they think of Angus?

Try on crunch channel or clean with boost. The sound used on "hell's bells" and "for those..." come close to AC/DC. Otherwise it's very metal high gain sound 🤘
@LeeKirkman883 жыл бұрын
I just program in an overdrive and use that with the gain fully off. So you still get break up but a much tighter sound. When strumming chords you dont want flabby muddy sound.. I think yours sounds really good though i have the mk1 100w head.

"Program in an overdrive"? Can you please explain? I have one of these and don't care for the stock sound.

That digital hiss always gets me with solid state amps even though they do sound good generally . Valves are hard to completely drop for that one reason .

I changed the tone setting to crunch for less of that kinda breakup and dropped the gain so it’s less of a heavier tone

I've personally just stopped trying to emulate the exact tones certain guitarists use on certain songs. In the end, I'm not them and I won't sound like them even with the exact same gear, guitar and settings, so I might as well just get it close enough and then try to do my own thing while still playing their songs.
@9unslin9er3 жыл бұрын
Doesn't sound right. I use the Master volume the way it was intended. Dime the channel volume. Also you need to kill that treble. The Brown channel already has a lot of high end.
@alexanderholden82 Жыл бұрын
Sounds pretty good but way more gain than any Marshall Plexi would deliver, my guitar with push these settings way over the limit because I play with Duncan Distortion pickups. If you want to get really close to that Marshall Plexi sound that Angus used... go with the crunch Channel instead with the gain at about 9 or 10 oclock and if use any of the Boost settings use the Marshall Guv'nor ... Angus also used a lot more mids and his EQ. Just listen to the intro to Thunderstruck, it is soaked with mids.
@thomasjones87323 жыл бұрын
I heard you can go into the global eq and roll off some of the high end. Get rid of the fizz ?
@kobyhenson44093 жыл бұрын
The main reason for the fizz is feedback from sitting so close to my computer and my guitar was picking up all the electronics around it’s a very sensitive amp
@youknoweverything7643 Жыл бұрын
They used only enough distortion where when he would say power chords or pick harder it would be distorted and when he picks soft it's clean like hells bells his picking is what he used only to switch from clean to distortion and other songs like that he uses clean and distortion he doesn't turn a pedel on
@luisgarciaalanis3 жыл бұрын
Sounds good but it has too much gain for a JTM45 tone
@kobyhenson44093 жыл бұрын
Yeah I just enjoy turning it up and being able to feel it like your at a concert if you are looking to be Sonically accurate your right, but I just kinda have to compensate for the fact that i can’t play like angus young 😂

Not a bad tone, but not at all Angus tone. Angus doesn't use distortion, or overdrive. NONE. he simply plays through a cranked Marshall. That's his tone.
@partriotsfight50392 жыл бұрын
Way too much gain for AC DC. I have a Katana 50 and set it on the crunch tone with about 9 o'clock gain. Bass 3 mid 6 and high 8. but you need to get into the tone studio and adjust the Graphic EQ. That part is a must. Listen to Angus and Malcom isolated tracks. They are actually very clean with minimal gain. Volume is where the power is. Blues driver is a must as well or a similar boost.
@TheJaxsonjack Жыл бұрын
New guitarist and Katana 100 owner ... What is the "Tone Studio"??? Are "Blues driver" and "Boost" downloads? Thanks!
@steviesteve7503 ай бұрын
That's nothing like how you get either Angus or Malcolm. I suspect your confusing a valve output stage with a transistor amp like the katana, you can't get a saturated sound by turning a transistor amp up to max vol, that's not how they work. The master volume does nothing to the tone in a transistor amp, other than add unpleasant distortion if yih over do it. So, for a Katana you need to use the crunch setting to mimic rhythm on a plexi. Gain about 2, and amp vol to max. This is simulating the plexi amp settings. You can adjust the amp out EQ to make it sound like a 4x12 cab and I use a tube screamer boost to mimic the schaffer radio system boost for the Angus tones. I don't use any amp in EQ because I play a gretsch and and SG for each of their parts so I don't need to mimic the guitar tone. Rock the fk on!

@@k.t.robinson6339: I've been playing for 40 years...I know the "less gain" but the only way u get Angus's tone is pure power tube saturation...A Katana doesn't have that...U may get a decent Angus tone, but it's not Angus's tone...
