Hey guys just wanted to mention that for the future episodes of nail that tone, I will just upload my isolated tracks without the use of any backing track or isolated drum tracks. This way my videos will not be blocked or copyrighted. I will be uploading separate videos that showcase my guitar tracks in a full band mix. Here is the link to the full band mix if you want to hear that as well. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5WVhWShpst-ndE

The critical element of Mick's tone is his two amps in two rooms recording technique. He put one amp in one room with a close mic, and put another amp in another room with a distant mic, and played through both amps at the same time. The distance of the second mic created a natural delay, and also picked up the sound of the room. These elements combine to give that double track / chorus sound, even though it might only be a single take.

Is there any way to get close to that effect with a mono chain? Would appreciate any pedal suggestions

@@petepete8556 I guess if you use a slap back delay with only one repeat it might sound like this.

I have heard some good stuff about that amp. It’s certainly a classic at this point. Never played one though.

@@ShredHeads The Gallien Krieger bit partly comes from The Dirt. He didn't say exactly which model, but knowing he used one it's pretty obvious by the sound. It was a popular session tool at the time. He ONLY used it on Theater of Pain though. His Jose mod was a bit different to everyone else's, Pete Thorn did a video with it. That was the main sound up through probably feelgood when he experimented with a ton of stuff. Bob Rock brought in a tiny junky practice amp that I can never remember the name of, which they layered in with the bigger sounds.

What are your amp settings?
@ShredHeads2 жыл бұрын
I don't remember the exact settings but the gain and bass were low. It had a good amount of power amp distortion. Run the amp hard but the gain low. when you double track it'll sound fuller and with more gain.

Why ? That album sounded like crap lol.

hey what settings did you have your knobs set to?
@ShredHeads2 жыл бұрын
I ran the gain pretty low and treble high. Bass should be lower because the song is down tuned so if you turn that up the Marshall will flub out.
