I have small gaps where new wall and ceiling drywall meet any special instructions to spackling this?
@SimonSaysDIY3 жыл бұрын
If these are corners you will want to use weave tape on the corner and then they sell corner trowels for inside corners like that. I didn't show those joints because I covered them up with bead board however you can treat them like all the other joints. I hope that helped. Thanks!

Hi I got a question after spackle do we need to apply paint primer before painting?
@SimonSaysDIY3 жыл бұрын
Good question. They do make paint and primer in one. That’s the type I use. It’s just like paint but seems to be a little thicker to help cover the surface and seal it with less coats of paint.

My big challenge when spackling is messing up a newly spackled area when I'm spackling a crack/hole adjacent to it. I have an old house and I'm fixing issues, not starting new, so the areas to be filled are not neatly arranged as with new walls. An example from your video is when you do a vertical inside corner and then a horizontal seam. I have trouble where they meet, so I think I need to let one dry first, but you seem to be able to do both before the first dries. Any recommendations for how to handle that?

That tape cannot hold in the longer rum. Try and tear it apart and it will rip. With the paper you spackle on, it got small fibers to keep it in place and does not team up=no cracks

What type of tape is that? On other video they spackle, tape and then spackle again.
@SimonSaysDIY3 жыл бұрын
This is weave tape, this goes on the tapered joints and it holds really well and keeps it from cracking. The paper tape you are talking about goes on the butt joints where two pieces of sheet rock comes together and doesn't have a taper. For this you need to put spackle down and then tape then more spackel then you scrape the excess off. the weave tape is too thick for those joints and can only be used for inside corners and taper seams. Hope this helps!
@Dubzero9468 ай бұрын
They make a thinner weave tape for that bro. Just saying 🤷🏻♂️
@ThePeterReyes2 жыл бұрын
You didn't put mud before you put the tape on so the joints can Bond together. Its wrong and the corner bead you didn't put a laser on it on both sides to make sure its perfectly straight.
@SimonSaysDIY2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! The green weave tap I used is not supposed to have spackle applied first. Paper tape on the other hand needs a good thick layer on the top and bottom and then you squeeze out the excess. This helps it bond with the Sheetrock. The laser is a great idea!

I use weave tape too bro. Works great and lasts too. Dude has no clue what he's talking about. Have fun with all that extra work and dry time!!! 😂

Yeah, I had one left over from another project but it had been too long and got too hard so I got a second bucket. I only used half of the new 5 gallon bucket.

I don’t think you’re actually “spackling”, which is used for small repairs. Looks like you are muding (applying All Purpose ready mix and/or dry mix Easy Sand)

This video is very confusing, your not naming the tools your using.. when you say spackle.. what time do you use.. ? The quickset 45 minute stuff? Do you use hot water or add a bit of salt? What's the painter tape your using? How long are those drywall screws? Comon dude, do better :(

Sorry about that! Thanks for the feedback. I'll try to improve that on my future videos :)

No man, don’t apologize to this troll. He’s trying to commercialize or sell something. Go to Lowe’s you troll. And he’s spackling 15 pieces of drywall, obviously he’s going to buy whatever the hell the have in BULK !Screw him. You’re video is AMAZING!

Yes, I can't believe you had the irresponsible audacity to release a video that left it's viewers to merely speculate the length of the drywall screws. I haven't slept a wink since seeing it. Everybody knows that the main focus of any good spackling tutorial is full transparency on any drywall screws.
