I can understand 75% or more of written German. Spoken is harder

​@@amishog8123 Understandable. A great example for not being sure is "Schnitzelbank". In my brain it's Schnitzel (yummy 🤤, best food out there :P ) and bank 🏦. So it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. After a bunch of research I learned that Schnitzel (in this case) could be from "Schnitzen (to carve)". So it could be a workbench where you carve wood 😅.

​@@amishog8123 I've noticed a lot of young people don't trill the R at the beginning of words now. Such as recht, rei and so forth. The R is just like an English R. Back in the 80's when I learned Deitsch the R was trilled. Are you noticing this also?
