Victor Cavazos i agree, and nice Kingsman reference, but I do not believe he portrayed the entire idea perfectly. His comments on please and thank you were correct and useful, but the rest was a bit sloppy. Especially when he says that profanity is the beat way to sound dumb, but stumbles over his own words for 5 seconds, which is the easiest way to sound dumb. He made points that did not need to be made and also showed a lack of understanding of the topic by not including many key rules.
@g-man66775 жыл бұрын
And to be clear, I do agree with what he said, but there are other points he should have made, so points he did not need to make like the thank you point, which could have gone with please. He also should have been more careful to not break his own rules in my opinion
@g-man66775 жыл бұрын
Oh, and I am sorry but one more thing to add on him breaking his own rules. He makes subtle sexist remarks all the time. In the past he has said both, “ the way I see it, women drink wine, guys drink beer, and gentlemen drink whiskey” and also “A gentleman must drink one of 3 masculine drinks” to quote a few. These are both very subjective and borderline sexist.

I apologise for saying this in advance, but it blows my mind how so many American's don't say Thank You. I mean, I was in the states for my Summer Holidays, and I honestly felt a bit insulted when it came to people completely ignoring me doing things to help them out, such as holding a door open etc. I'm a 16 year old brit, and I was brought up that way, so I guess I just expect it to happen. But in the UK, people are so much more polite. I am sorry if I offended anyone with this. Just my observation.

You don't have to change the way you speak but you must know how to speak with different people. I have two modes. Business mode and friends mode. I drop F word in front of my friends but on work I'm like James Bond. But on work I use different words and speak in different way. He talks about manners and bonton that everybody MUST have regardless where are you from. if you from the "hood" or top society its not hard to say thank you and please, keep door for someone or help someone to put begs in the bus. That is just me but people are different.

Yes, life *is* easier when you aren't worrying about "appeasing others" (i.e. being a decent human being). That doesn't make it a good idea, nor does it make it the course of action that will lead to your own long-term happiness. If you're always doing whatever is easiest rather than expending a little more effort to be a good person, you aren't going to get very far in life.

The only time I use racism is in a joking manor to one of my friends whom I know doesn't get offended by it and we have a good laugh going back and forth. But at school a couple days ago one kid came over to my little group of friends (majority of them girls) and made a sexist comment and nearly got the shit beaten out of him

WOW! Kudos on your tolerant approach. I am a white American Muslim and you cannot imagine the things people say about my religion without knowing who I am. If EVERYONE would keep their opinions to themselves, the world would be a better place. That is, being a gentleman is the oil to make society work. Being a gentleman is my inner jihad. Best wishes.

Why do I have such trouble correlating a Gentleman with a fast talking American.
@scootcha9 жыл бұрын
+James Arte Because that's bigotry. Just like what he mentioned you SHOULDN'T do in the video.
@jamesart99 жыл бұрын
stumpz Bigotry? Yeah, but, let's face it, A suit and tie does not a gentleman make.
@scootcha9 жыл бұрын
James Arte "A suit and tie does not a gentleman make." That sentence makes no grammatical sense. You are illiterate and illegible. You don't have the privilege of speaking on behalf of what makes a gentleman.

stumpz Ooh, poor precious.

James Arte Sadly, I expected a response like that from you. Subhumans who aren't capable of critical thinking can be predicted like clockwork.

Hi. I'm 16 years old, and am not opposed to the LGBTQ community, other cultures/religions, races, sexes, etc. I am constantly surrounded by statements that are sexist, racist, homophobic(discriminatory comments, jokes, etc.). It Is baffling to me that people my age, younger, and older than me alike say things like that. Now I'm not that a person that gets offended by everything, but I know when enough is enough, and when offensive is offensive. My request to people out there is please be respectful with your humor, if you're joking, and if you just don't agree with that group of people, (LGBT, a specific gender, a specific race, etc.) Keep the following in mind? It's 100% to disagree with people. But don't force other individuals with their own opinions and morals to follow/live by YOUR opinions and morals if they don't want to. For example: if you don't approve of gay marriage, don't marry a person your same gender. If you think abortion is evil, don't have an abortion. But DO NOT force other people to live by your opinions or morals. Thank you everyone. (P.S. Great video, I am a sub and love your videos, thank you for making them)
