I have been following your channel for the last 2 years since we (my wife and me) decided to migrate to Canada. Kudos to you both. You both do an incredible job. There are a plethora of channels on KZbin providing information on the travel and lifestyle of Canada, but you both stand out from the crowd. Looking ahead for more such content. Only one point I don't like (my personal preference can say :P), there are a lot of cuts in your video. While listening it makes me feel as if I missed out some point or the internet is lagging :D

USA - Beanie, Canada - Toque. Snowbirds mostly go to Florida. That's right, in western world milk comes in cartons, only Canada or specifically Ontario it comes in bag and it's just freaking weird. Carton is much easier (rip and pour and easy to store), bags (you gotta buy a container and easier to spill). Canada - pop, most of US - Soda, Minnesota or midwest - pop again, Texas - just coke even for a sprite. USA - Restroom, Canada - Washroom. First Nations and Inuits are indigenous to Canada (4-5% of Canadian population). For comparison Indo Canadians are also 4% of Canadian population. Newfoundland - Whaddayat? is how are you? Yes b'y - Yes man, OK, No way (multiple uses) Best kind - I'm doing great Who knit ya? - Who's your mom and dad? Oh me nerves, you got me drove - You are driving me crazy You seem contrary - You seem upset or pissed off Stay where you're to 'till I comes where you at - Stay there until I get there Newfoundland English is the most distinct of all various Canadian dialect. Above are just a few. Do check documentary of Fogo Island. Alberta - Bag is pronounced as Bayg (like Beyg)

I've lived in the US and several other other European countries and now living in the UK and my favorite word is BC. No one minds it, no one understands it and it works like a charm. Use it anywhere and everywhere. Firangis have a slangs like we desi's do. If one wants to learn their slangs, hit a pub and spend 1 hour over there and you'll become a master of their slangs. #JustSaying

Wow that was something! Kiwis have a huge amount of unique words. Sweet as, or sweet, (meaning great), cheers (sort of bye with thanks), togs (swimming costume), Ta (thanks), coffees are more specialised like flat white, laates, expresso, mochachino, cappachino, frappes, etc. Flat white is most NZ. It's coffee with milk, no froth. For people, Whites are pakeha, locals are Maories, rest are just immigrants. There are sooo many terms but these are the most common 😊.
@FunkyChild7183 жыл бұрын
Honestly, it doesn't matter what accent you have in Toronto because it's so cosmopolitan and diverse. As long as you can speak clear English, people won't even notice your accent, they'll still believe if you say you moved there when you were a kid because everyone is used to hearing so many different languages and accents growing up in Toronto. Maybe if you go to northern Ontario you'll stand out more but not in Toronto. Toronto is like NYC, London or Sydney where the locals are so desensitized to hearing other accents and languages that even foreigners are considered locals in those types of cities.

An alcoholic is a common term used to refer to someone who has an addiction to alcohol and suffers from Alcohol Use Disorder. NOT someone who loves/buys/consumes alcohol. Drinking culture is quite common and people are open about consuming and enjoying alcohol as a recreational activity in the west. I don’t think anyone who buys a two four would appreciate being called an alcoholic.
