To me, Bottom is the funniest TV program ever made. Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson are by far the funniest double act Great Britain ever produced. Rik has been gone for ten years now (and what a miserable ten years it's been). but, Like Laurel and Hardy, Bob Hope, Robin Williams, Peter Sellers, Tommy Cooper, Gene Wilder, Charlie Chaplin, George Carlin, and the few other genuine comic geniuses that have made us laugh so often, Rik and the others will always be with us via the miracle of film (and DVDs, digital files, and so on).
