Thank you so much. I think this topic people need to find in the early stage when they start to study the language. Your explanation of the topic is very clear and nice. Rythm in English is important and made our speech easy to understand by other people.
@EnglishwithLiz Жыл бұрын
Yes, I agree Sasha. Unfortunately learning correct pronunciation is often not prioritised, particularly when taught by a non-native speaker. I think it's because many teachers are not very good at it 🤷♀️. Love ❤️ & 🕊Peace. Liz

This topic is exactly what I wanted to know. My native language is mora-timed. Unfortunately, it is far from syllable-timed, or stress-timed languages. With this useful video, I finally understood their differences. But I need quite a lots of practice. Thank so much, Liz!

Amazing intonation however, for non native speakers it’s hard for them to focus on getting the rhythm right as it doesn’t come natural. As an example, this lesson is explained in a form of a presentation so there is emphasis on words however, in day to day conversation is different and doesn’t require….. Intonation could take years to develop. Fantastic content! Thanks
@EnglishwithLiz Жыл бұрын
Yes you are absolutely right. Intonation in presentation will differ from everyday conversation although there will be a lot of crossover. If you want conversation practice, have a look at this playlist kzbin.info/aero/PLe6nq1U9Qfax_dTB3ic2SVxEMd_KsdRG4 . @@EnglishwithLiz Liz, one thing really stand out in intonation to me personally in a business environment, is that when talking to colleagues about business, the intonation seem to be on the flat side and unstressed. Do you agree?
@EnglishwithLiz Жыл бұрын
Mmmm interesting. I think it could vary from business to business depending on the environment. For instance, I could imagine that in a legal environment where it is important to convey the exact meaning there could be less intonation, whereas in a creative environment there could be the tendency to overdo the stress, BUT, I think it would be dangerous to generalise. Clarity and conveying the correct meaning should always be the goal but I also think it can be a good idea not to follow the crowd and be a bit different - see this true story - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rXmcoZmZeqeEZpY Love ❤️ & 🕊Peace.
