The leather straps at the waist are called pteruges (plural). I only know that because of my Ultramarine models since I got tired of calling them "that leather roman skirt thing".

Probably the most convenient way: prime in (cool) gold, 2 layers of contrast on armor (avoiding rims), et voila: no painful manual rim painting. Black Templar covers very well. If you used a cool gold and want it warmer give the rims a Fleshshade wash.

I love your videos. I’ve brought the paints you’ve suggested to make my black legion minatures. Do you find it easier painting them before assembly? I didn’t prime mine in black I’ve done them in a dark grey. When I apply the abandon black with a brush would you recommend watering it down or using it straight from the pot?

So basically you believe the ceramite power armour of a Space should look more enameled ceramic, rather than ceramic painted with acrylic? That's fair. I've never really seen good background material regarding the texture/finish of Space Marine armour... only the colours. Even the lore regarding the colour of unpainted ceramite changes (e.g. both Grey Knights and pre-Heresy Death Guard are described as having unpainted armour), which lead to further explanation that the unpainted colour changes from one forge to another.
