This was a very nice effect and I am thinking of giving it a try. You captured the essence of the Iron Warriors perfectly within this single model.

The figure looks great and I am impressed how just a few paints can make such an impressive model. From what I can see the Contrast Paints really work well on a metallic surface. This was another fantastic tutorial.

Whenever I am drybrushing beaten steel, I usually do a first drybrush layer of Warplock Bronze and then Leadbelcher over it. It's probably a reverse of what you did with the Wyldwood wash, it makes this oily dirty steel surface.

You have to hit it with nuln oil to get roughly the similar result - but it isn't same - drybrushed metallics over black (or dark brown) have their own beaten charm.

Would Nuln Oil and Agrax Earthshade be able to substitute for the Black Templar and Wildwood contrast washes?

Yellow spray paint. Vallejo do a nice one. Pin wash brown for shade. Down yellow for highlights. If you make any mistakes with details, hide it with weathering, don't try to "fix" the yellow.
