I don’t personally own eldars but I find your vids still helpful and I want to support Project 365 because GW forcing u between working for them and creating vids is disgusting

The Druchi Violet step was intriguing. I've been using it as a finishing but am thinking to try it as a mid way through shading step like you did.

How did you do that AMAZING base?

My Martian scheme base has its own video. You can find it in my basing playlist.

I got to say I don't like mixing contrast paints with a zenithal spray. Even with the grey zenithal there is a grainy effect that transfers through the contrast paint. To my mind a spray of black if you like then a painted dark grey and a highlight of lighter grey gives a better effect and with the contrast over the top. The contrast softens the transition from the dark grey to the light playing on the contrast tendency to highlight raised points on the model.
@MediocreHobbies2 жыл бұрын
You may be rite but that defeats the whole purpose of my channel. It’s about making painting quick and easy to follow. Helping people to get there models painted. Highlighting every model before contrast is a very time consuming process not something the majority of people are willing to do across an entire army project. Does that make you understand my process a little Better? Thanks for the support and comment.

Great video! Very informative! Would you Aeldari skin technique work on fantasy elves or Daughters of Khaine? Thank you!
@MediocreHobbies2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely it would work perfectly for any elf skin.

Unrelated to the tutorial, but I was just wondering whether you were planning to cover the army painter's speed paints? As someone who owns all the contrast paints, it would be interesting to hear you give an in depth breakdown/comparison of the quality/consistency etc of the new range.

Fantastic work, absolutely love your videos and the way you describe things. Looking to get into the hobby again after a 16 year absence. The wraithbone prime that you did for this model, was that zenithal or just pure wraithbone?
@MediocreHobbies7 ай бұрын
Welcome back to the hobby! I do a full coat of chaos black and a lighter coat of wraithbone from above to add some light/shadows! Hope that makes sense?

I love your method for the red armour in your videos. I'm going to give it a go with my Autarch. Any tips for giving the Ranger cloak that odd pattern on GW's model?
@MediocreHobbies2 жыл бұрын
Cheer dude. The pattern is basically free hand. So I would find two other greens as close to the Loren Forrest as I can and then find an nice reference picture of one of the cloaks and then just give it a go.

Really enjoy the eldar painting. Are you planning on doing the Voidscarred corsairs when they're released?

I am indeed. I’m really looking forward to doing those amazing models. It’s a very cool feeling that people are hoping i do certain videos. So thank you for that.

How do you get a smooth finish without pooling but good detail around raised areas? When I use contrast paints, it's either too thin so the colour coverage isn't great, or it's too thick so the detail gets lost
@MediocreHobbies10 ай бұрын
You shake the pot a lot. That’s rule number one. I know you always hear it but with contrast it’s extra important. And then I’m always applying to much on purpose and then removing excess with the brush. This gives me a nice clean coat.

@@MediocreHobbies I think he meant that you use contrast only to shade it and layer or so (in theory) it defeats the purpose of contrast paints as combining layering and shading in one. At least that's what I think he meant. Though it was year ago, lol.
